Game one of the TNT TV doubleheader will be an Eastern Conference tilt as the Philadelphia 76ers will travel on the road to face the Chicago Bulls. The 76ers needs to regroup as the club hit the lowest point of their season after suffering a 98-84 home defeat to the Orlando Magic as a -8 ½ point favorite on Tuesday night. Heading into this game the Magic had dropped 17 of their previous 18 games. Philadelphia occupies the 10th seed in the Eastern conference and heading into Tuesday’s action the team was 4 ½ games behind the eighth seeded Milwaukee Bucks. As Chicago took the court on Tuesday night against Cleveland the Bulls were sitting in the six seed in the Eastern conference. Derrick Rose has been sidelined following his knee surgery from last year but has not listed a timetable for return. He is participating in practice and media reports are that Rose still doesn’t trust his recovery enough to fully exhort himself on the court yet. Rose is needed badly by the Bulls as the Chicago’s offense has struggled big time. They average just 92 points a game which is 28th and third worst in all of the NBA.

Game two of the doubleheader will feature Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers hosting the downtrodden Minnesota Timberwolves at 10:30PM Eastern Time. The Lakers are chasing the Houston Rockets for the eighth seed in the Western conference. LA trails Houston by three games for the final seed out west. The Lakers have won three of their past four games and will have two full days of rest for Minnesota. LA was exposed by Denver as the Nuggets outhustled the Lakers in their 119-108 win on Monday night. The Lakers don’t run the court very well and their age really shows when facing fast teams. Minnesota just can’t seem to get a break. Kevin Love has missed most of the season with a broken hand, Scorer Chase Budinger has been sidelined with a knee injury. The Timberwolves put up 95 points a game which is not good enough for a Western conference team.

They have a seven point loss at Denver and the next night they travel into Staples Center in LA and get beat 113-99. After a day off it was off to Portland where the Celtics dropped a 92-86 decision on Sunday night. Boston is in a tough spot having to play Utah in altitude on back to back nights. At issue for the Celtics will be their ability to match up with the height advantage for Utah. Boston really likes size inside and its reflective in the numbers as the team is the second worst rebounding team in the NBA. In the playoff picture for Boston the team occupies the 7th seed and is six games ahead of both Toronto and Philadelphia who are tied for the ninth seed in the Eastern conference. Out west the Jazz currently holds the seventh spot in the Western conference with the Lakers now 3 ½ games behind. The Jazz were riding a three game win streak until they headed into Staples Center and were beaten by 13 points to the Clippers. Good news for Utah is the fact that Gordon Hayward in his second game back from injury had 23 points and 8 assists and looks to be 100%.

Thus far on this west coast trip the Celtics are 0-2 with losses at the Denver Nuggets and LA Lakers. Their lone win came against a bad Phoenix team as the Celtics put a 113-88 thumping on Friday night. They close out this long trip on Monday night in Utah to face the Jazz. In that win Jeff Green stepped up and poured in 31 points for the Celtics. In the playoff picture the Celtics occupies the seventh seed as they sit six games ahead of the ninth seeded Philadelphia 76ers. Portland has lots of work to do if they are make the postseason. They currently occupy the 11th seed in the west and trails the Houston Rockets by 4 ½ games for the eighth seed. The Trailblazers have played a road heavy scheduled of late that has contributed to a seven game losing streak for the team. Six of the seven games have been on the road. On Friday night the Trailblazers looked like a team close to breaking this awful streak as they give the Lakers all they can handle in a Laker 111-107 home win against the Trailblazers as a -9 ½ point favorite. Issue for Portland has been the recent play of their defense as they have surrendered 102 or more points in six of their past seven games.

ABC and ESPN TV NBA Sports Betting Match Up Previews for Sunday

Saturday, February 23rd, 2013

There is a big tripleheader of action over national television from the NBA on Sunday February 24th to satisfy pro hoops betting enthusiasts. With the All Star break in the rear view mirror things begin to get serious now as teams are jockeying for playoff positioning which begin in late April.

Bet the NBA Sunday TV games at Oddsmaker sportsbook, where bettors can now Claim their Free $10 NBA Bet. Sign up today and get into the excitement of watching and wagering on NBA pro basketball all season long!

The action gets started at 1PM Eastern Time as the LA Lakers hit the road to face the Dallas Mavericks with national television provided by ABC TV. Heading into Friday’s action both teams were sitting outside the playoffs. The Lakers had occupied the ninth seed with the Mavericks a ½ game behind the Lakers as Dallas sits in the 10th seed. They are both chasing the Houston Rockets who own the eighth seed in the Western conference with LA trailing by 4 games.

The Memphis Grizzlies will hit the road to play the Brooklyn Nets. The action gets started at 7PM Eastern Time and ESPN will have the TV coverage. Originally scheduled for 3PM Eastern Time this game has been a time change to accommodate television. The Grizzlies occupies the fourth seed and has a three game lead over the Denver Nuggets in the fifth seed at the moment. Brooklyn has had a good season in their first year in their new city. They hold a ½ game lead for the fourth spot in the Eastern conference as the Nets are on solid ground for a post season berth.

The finale of the tripleheader will tip off at 9:30PM Eastern Time as the Chicago Bulls travel to play the Oklahoma City Thunder. ESPN TV will provide the national television coverage for this NBA game. The Bulls have suffered offensively this season with no Derrick Rose in the lineup. They are a solid defensive team but when they are forced to step up against the NBA’s elite upper echelon teams their lack of scoring seems to get exposed badly as evidenced by their embarrassing loss to the Miami Heat this past Thursday. Oklahoma City sits in the second seed in the Western conference as the club is 3 ½ games behind the San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder has begun to give up heavy point totals of late as the team has fallen to 16th in the league in points allowed this season.

San Antonio Spurs versus Golden St Warriors NBA Pro Basketball Betting Preview

Friday, February 22nd, 2013

The red hot San Antonio Spurs will put their five game win streak on the line as they take on a struggling Golden St Warriors team in the late night national televised NBA game on Friday February 22nd. The Spurs and Warriors will get things started from Golden St at 10:30PM Eastern Time and ESPN TV will provide the national broadcast.

Bet the Spurs and Warriors NBA pro basketball on Friday night at Oddsmaker sportsbook, where bettors can now Claim their Free $1000 Welcome Bonus. Sign up today and get into the excitement of watching and wagering on the NBA all season long with the playoffs just around the corner!

The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has road team San Antonio Spurs the -3 ½ point favorite with the total of 209 points. A money line wager on the favored San Antonio Spurs will lay -160 odds. Bettors who choose to take the underdog Golden St Warriors to pull off the home upset win can get back +140 odds for their money line wager.

At 44-12 the Spurs are one of the hottest teams in the NBA as the club has won 16 of their past 17 games. They absolutely crushed the Clippers on Thursday night as they post a 26 point winning margin on an LA team that was playing very good basketball entering the All Star break. In their two games since the All Star break the Spurs have averaged 112 points a game. San Antonio is getting a lot of respect from the bettors on Friday night even though the team is playing on back to back nights. In their big win on Thursday night no starter played more than 28 minutes. Center Tim Duncan played less than 16 minutes. Even though the club is on a back to back fatigue should not be a factor for them on Friday night because they go deep in their roster. The Warriors entered their All Star break with five straight losses. They then came off the break with a 14 point road loss to Utah on Tuesday night. They rebound the next night and defeat the Phoenix Suns 109-98 as a -8 ½ point favorite. The Warriors have not defended well during this down streak as the team has given up 115 or more points in five of their previous seven games.

This will be Duke’s seventh ACC conference meeting on the road this year. Duke was riding a seven game win streak when they traveled to Maryland on Saturday and are beaten 83-81 as a -4 point favorite. On Saturday they lose a hard luck 90-86 road decision as a +14 point underdog at NC State. Virginia Tech has had trouble on the defensive end of the court giving up over 73 points a game ranking in the lower third of all college basketball.
