Indiana Pacers versus Miami Heat Game 5 NBA Pro Basketball Playoff Betting Preview

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013

It will be a critical Game 5 of the Eastern conference playoff finals between the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat on Thursday night May 30th. The Pacers and Heat will begin from Miami at 8:30PM Eastern Time and TNT will provide the TV broadcast.

The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business have the home team Miami Heat favored by -8 points in game five with an over under line of 183 ½ points.

This has been a zigzag series since the Heat won game number one. The Pacers bounced back from defeat with a 97-93 road victory at Miami to notch the series at 1-1. In game three the Heat bounced back from their loss and pounded the Indiana Pacers by a 114-96 and easily covered the spread as a -2 point betting favorite. In game four Indiana was left for dead by most critics as the discussion for most of Tuesday afternoon came from a possible Miami and San Antonio NBA Finals series. Well Indiana put that talk to rest after evening this best of seven series with a 99-92 victory on their home court as a +3 point underdog. After shooting terribly in game three at 39.7% the Indiana Pacers rebounded in game four by connecting on 50% from the field. The Pacers got good production from their five starters as each player scored in double digits. The Pacers bench as like they did for the regular season and playoffs offer very little on the scoreboard for the Indiana Pacers. Center Roy Hibbert was more efficient in game four as the Pacers big man made 10 of 16 from the floor which was a significant improvement from game three. Indiana is getting no respect from the critics but has really given the Heat problems in both last year’s playoff series and their series in 2013. None of the Heat’s starting five was able to make at least 50% of their shots. Ray Allen had difficulty hitting shots in game four by making just 4 of his 13 shots off the bench.

Detroit Red Wings at Chicago Blackhawks NHL Pro Hockey Betting Preview

Tuesday, May 28th, 2013

With no NBA scheduled for Wednesday May 29th the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs will have the big stage to themselves and a deciding game seven is necessary in the Western conference semifinal round series between the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks. The Red Wings and Blackhawks will begin this dramatic Game 7 from Chicago at 8PM Eastern Time and NBC Sports Network will deliver the coverage live over national television.

Bet the Red Wings and Blackhawks Game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at Oddsmaker sportsbook, where bettors can now Claim their Free 100% Bonus up to $1000. After a home 2-0 victory by the Detroit Red Wings over the Chicago Blackhawks the Red Wings were looking at a 3-1 series lead with game five heading Chicago. The Blackhawks were frustrated offensively as they were held to just one goal in game two, one goal in game three and were shut out in game four. The Blackhawks then were facing elimination on home ice on May 25th and the team broke through offensively with their backs against the wall for four goals total in a 4-1 home victory to cut into the Red Wings margin three games to two. The big test for Chicago to survive would come in game six as the team would have to travel and play in the Detroit arena to force a deciding game seven. The Blackhawks did just that as they tally up another four spot on the scoreboard as Chicago posts the 4-3 road win at Detroit to set up the game seven. Detroit went into the third period up by the score of 2-1. Then Chicago with their season on the line came out on fire with three straight even strength goals in the third period to lift the Blackhawks to the 4-3 victory. But nothing comes easy this deep into the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the Red Wings cut the margin to a single goal in the final minute of the game. The Blackhawks were able to deny the Red Wings a score in the closing seconds so Chicago will stage their dramatic game seven with the winner advancing into the Western Conference finals against either the San Jose Sharks or Los Angeles Kings.

At 8:30PM Eastern Time on TNT TV it will be game four of the NBA playoff series between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers. Things get started from Indiana at 8:30PM Eastern Time with Miami holding a 2-1 series lead in this best of seven. This has been a see saw series thus far as Miami won game one and Indiana equalized in game two on Miami’s home court. The scene then moved to Indiana where the Miami Heat were able to bounce back from their loss on Friday night with a game three 114-96 thumping of the Indiana Pacers as a -2 point road favorite. Miami was able to put up 70 first half points on Indiana and were able to pull away from an attempted rally by the Pacers in the fourth quarter. The Heat distributed the ball exceptionally well as Indiana was playing chase as the Heat team were hitting on 54.5% of their shots.

From the NHL Western conference semifinal round it will be the seventh and deciding game between the San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings. The Sharks and Kings will begin game seven from Staples Center in LA at 9PM Eastern Time and NBC Sports Network will carry this game liver over national television. Home ice advantage may be the way for the Kings to advance into the Western conference finals as each team is a perfect 3-0 on their home ice in this series. LA could only manage 1 goal in all three games played at San Jose. LA has averaged three goals per game on home ice and have home shutouts against the San Jose Sharks in both game’s one and five of this series. LA has exceptional depth and they have done the better job when playing with one day of rest than the Sharks in this series.

Miami Heat versus Indiana Pacers Game 3 NBA Pro Basketball Playoff Betting Preview

Saturday, May 25th, 2013

The Miami Heat will look to bounce back from defeat when they take the court to face the Indiana Pacers in Game 3 of their seven game series against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday May 26th. The Heat and Pacers will begin from Indiana at 8:30PM Eastern Time and you can watch all of the action live over TNT TV.

The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the home team Indiana Pacers favored by -2 points with an over under total line at 183 points.

All the chatter going into Game 2 was how the Pacers would overcome a Game 1 defeat where the Pacers in many critics eye made a tactical error by not placing Roy Hibbert into the game for the Heat’s final possession of overtime. In Game 1 LeBron James converted on his layup and all of a sudden Indiana head coach Frank Vogel was being questioned about his coaching ability. The issue should be been focused on the Pacers poor defense rather than the players who were on and off the court. As evidenced that execution is what really should be focused on just needs to view the Heat’s final possessions in game two. The Pacers evened the series at 1-1 following their 97-93 victory in Miami on Friday night and covered as a +7 ½ point underdog. Game two, like the first game of this series, came down to the final possessions of the game. Indiana defended extremely well by forcing two late LeBron James turnovers that gave the Pacers the win in game two. Basketball comes down to the players making plays regardless of any game plan or play call or defensive set. An interesting trend in this series is that both games played over the total. The over is 7-1 in the Pacers and Heat’s past eight meetings. Last year the Heat and Pacers were 1-1 heading back to Indiana where the Pacers won game three and then preceded to lose the final three games as the Heat won the series in six games.

A money line wager on the favored Memphis Grizzlies will return -235 odds. Bettors who believe that the road underdog San Antonio Spurs can pull out the straight up victory in Game 3 can get back +195 odds for their money line wager.

The Spurs enter game number three on Saturday night with a 2-0 series lead in this playoff series. They cruised to victory in game one at home by the score of 105-83 and easily covering the -4 ½ point spread. Game two was a challenge for San Antonio as the team blows an eighteen point lead as the Grizzlies force an overtime session. The Spurs were outscored by Memphis by a 21-9 margin in the final period that produced the extra five minute period. Zach Randolph continues his cold shooting from the field. After going 1 of 8 in game one, Randolph sinks just 6 of 18 shots in game number two. To his credit Zach was active in other areas as he led all players in game two with 18 rebounds in the losing effort. Tony Parker has been a nemesis for the Memphis Grizzlies in this series. Parker put up 20 points and nine assists in game one. In game two the San Antonio point guard contributed with 15 points and 18 assists in guiding his team to a 2-0 series lead. This is familiar territory for the San Antonio Spurs as they were up 2-0 in their best of seven Western conference finals series last season against the Oklahoma City Thunder before losing four straight and the series.

Indiana Pacers versus Miami Heat Game 2 NBA Pro Basketball Playoff Betting Preview

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

The Indiana Pacers will have very little time to sulk over a hard fought and tough luck loss in Game 1 as they take the court in Game 2 of their Eastern conference finals series against the Miami Heat on Friday May 24th. The Pacers and Heat will begin from Miami in this playoff game at 8:30PM Eastern Time and you can watch all of the action over TNT TV.

Miami squeaks by the Indiana Pacers in their game one on Wednesday night by the score of 103-102 in overtime but the Heat fails to cover the point spread as a -8 ½ point betting favorite and the game went over the total of 181 ½ points. Indiana got some good offensive performance out of their roster in game one that should have been good enough to earn them the victory. David West had 26 points and Paul George chipped in with 27 points. What really has to be bothering the Pacers in their defeat on Wednesday was the fact Roy Hibbert was not on the court to defend the Heat’s final possession and the fact that Indiana turned the ball over 20 times. When a team has 20 turnovers against Miami one would expect a double digit blowout game. But Miami was just as sloppy as the team had one more turnover for 21 in the game. It came down to a one possession game in the overtime period with the Pacers nursing a one point lead and 2.2 seconds left on the clock. Indiana head coach Frank Vogel decides to go with the small lineup and keep his big man Roy Hibbert on the bench. Vogel is getting a lot of criticism but realistically 2.2 seconds should not be enough time to drive the lane and lay up the basketball against one of the best defensive teams in basketball. Indiana should have defended James better off the ball and pressure the dribble to force a jump shot in that situation. Miami got a huge performance off the bench as “The Birdman” Chris Anderson contributed with 16 points in 18 minutes of play.
