The Chicago Bulls will be the home side facing Chris Paul and the LA Clippers at 1PM Eastern Time over ABC TV. The Chicago Bulls took a huge blow during the middle of the week as point guard Derrick Rose has undergone knee surgery that could keep him sidelined for six weeks or longer. The Bulls have defended better of late as they face the Clippers winners of seven of their past nine games after defeating Minnesota by seven points on Friday night. The Clippers are still without Blake Griffin who is rehabbing an elbow injury and should return back to the lineup in early March. After losing two straight the Clippers defeated Memphis on Frida night 97-79 as a +4 ½ point underdog. LA got a much needed effort on the boards from DeAnde Jordan who pulled down 22 rebounds in the win. Jordan’s flashy slam dunks often shields his lack of toughness that was the major reason for the Clippers playoff eliminations to the Grizzlies in recent seasons.
At 3:30PM Eastern Time on ABC it will be James Harden and his Houston Rockets welcoming into town LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. After beating Golden St on Thursday the Cavaliers coaching staff decided to rest both Kyrie Irving and LeBron James which resulted in a Friday night loss at Indiana. Houston is still without Dwight Howard for at least two more weeks as he is battling a knee problem. The Rockets will be on a four game win streak as they host the Cavs.
Over on ESPN TV at 6:30PM Eastern Time it’s the LA Lakers playing host to Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder. LA Lakers are on a three game win streak as they defeat three straight losing teams. Oklahoma City is 0-2 on this three game road trip as they blew an 11 point lead after three quarters to Portland on Friday.
