Cleveland got good work from Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love who combined for 57 points. Big man Tristan Thomas scored 18 and had 13 rebounds. With those numbers from LeBron James supporting cast you would think the Cavaliers would win Game 3 handily. Unfortunately, King James has his worst game of these playoffs with only 11 points going 4 of 13 from the floor. And that’s with James playing 45 of the 48 minutes of the game. Cavaliers bench wasn’t much help neither with only nine points. It was a big adjustment at halftime for Boston head coach Brad Stephens. Boston defenders had good defensive rotation and contested shots near their basket that resulted in only 24 Cavaliers points in the paint.
