Vino Rosso was the winner of the Wood Memorial but finished ninth in the Kentucky Derby at odds of 14-1. Notable Indy following his win in the Louisiana Derby by finishing 17th at the Kentucky Derby. Gronkowski is shipping in from Europe on a four race win streak with three of those wins against Allowance company.

The Peter Pan Stakes winner usually is given a look in the Belmont Stakes because the winner skips the Kentucky Derby and Preakness and has a win on the track. This year the Peter Pan winner is Blended Citizen. He started his career in California where he had trouble breaking his maiden. He got his first win in his fifth career start. He also ran some turf races in California. Blended Citizen had a fifth-place finish in the Blue Grass Stakes prior to his triumph in the Peter Pan Stakes in New York.
