France—The favorite of the remaining four teams have scored six goals in the knockout round. After a 4-3 victory to Argentina it was France with the 2-0 shutout against Uruguay. France got a break as they were able to beat Uruguay who was without Edinson Cavani. He was sidelined with a calf injury. Entering the quarterfinals Uruguay had allowed only one goal the entire tournament. Antoine Griezmann leads France with three goals and got the insurance goal in the win against Uruguay. 19 year old Kylian Mbappé has three goals as well for France. His speed has given defenders issues in this World Cup.

England—Not many pundits had England making it this far into the World Cup. England has a young team that has gotten great defensive performance. The team has not allowed more than one goal in any of their five games. After a dramatic penalty kick round to eliminate Colombia in the knockout stage it was a 2-0 win against Sweden in the quarterfinals.

Belgium—The team enters the semis with confidence. They won their group by beating England 1-0. They fell behind 2-0 to Japan in the knockout stages and rallied for three goals in the final 25 minutes of the game for the victory. Next up for Belgium was the tournament favorite Brazil and it was a 2-1 victory to move the team into the semifinals.

Croatia—The Croatians were one of the dark horses of this tournament and have not disappointed. They needed penalty kicks in both knockout round victories against Denmark and Russia. Croatia has won all five of their World Cup games in 2018 including a 3-0 victory to Argentina in the group stage.
