At 8:45PM Eastern Time on ESPN TV it is the Sugar Bowl from New Orleans as the Georgia Bulldogs faces the Baylor Bears. Georgia is favored by -5 ½ points with the total set at 41 ½ points. Baylor finished their regular season at 11-2 after their 30-23 defeat in overtime to Oklahoma. Bears offense generated only 265 yards in defeat. Baylor lost twice to Oklahoma. Virginia a 9-4 team coming off the 62-17 road defeat to Clemson in the ACC championship game. The loss broke a four game win streak. Cavaliers earned a bid into the ACC title game after a dramatic 39-30 home win to a hot Virginia Tech team. Florida finished at 10-2 overall with their lone losses coming at home to Georgia and at LSU. Sunday Night Football will decide the NFC West division title as the Seattle Seahawks have a home date with the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco is favored by -3 points with the over under of 47 points. With a win not only with the 49ers clinch the NFC West but will have home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. 49ers need to find improvement on a defense allowing an average of 35 points per game in their past three games. Seattle looks to rebound off their 27-13 home defeat to Arizona. Seahawks have lost all three of their running backs and will look to the practice squad and a Marshawn Lynch signing to fill the roster. Seattle did win the first meeting in November 27-24 on the road in overtime.

Lakers have lost three straight after their 128-104 home defeat to the Denver Nuggets. These teams met last season with BYU posting the 49-23 home victory. The programs have met four times the past eight seasons with BYU winning each time twice at home and twice on the road.

BYU concluded play in the regular season with a mark of 7-5. They went 3-3 on the road. Cougars scheduled difficult early playing PAC 12 teams. They had their five game win streak snapped in a 13-3 defeat at a very good defensive team in San Diego St. BYU posted a couple of notable wins this season defeating both Boise St and USC at home. Cougars put up an average of 439 yards of offense this season with 285 yards in the passing game. In their loss to San Diego St the Cougars defense held the Aztecs offense to only 269 yards. BYU missed two field goals and committed four turnovers in defeat.
