Utah Jazz vs New Orleans Pelicans Odds – July 30, 2020

Tuesday, July 28th, 2020

The 2020 NBA regular season will resume from a three plus month layoff, when the Utah Jazz battle the New Orleans Pelicans. The Jazz are currently 18 games above .500 overall and trail the Nuggets by 1.5 games for third place in the Western Conference standings. Last time out, Utah had their five-game winning streak snapped during a 101-92 home loss versus Toronto.

The Jazz are secured of a slot in the playoffs, but they are looking to establish a more solid foundation before the postseason battles. Among the thing Utah wants to know right away is how they would fare without Bojan Bogdanovic, the team’s second-leading scorer this season. Bogdanovic is out for the rest of the year after undergoing a surgery on his wrist last May, and his absence will put an even heavier load on the likes of Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley.

In Utah’s 128-120 home win over the Pelicans on November 27, Mitchell spearheaded his team with 37 points, while Bogdanovic had 28. Utah’s bench stepped up with 33 points to just 24 by New Orleans’ reserves.

MLB Baseball Betting Odds Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets July 26, 2020

Sunday, July 26th, 2020

The Atlanta Braves and New York Mets play the rubber game of their three-game series when the teams collide on Sunday Night Baseball at Citi Field. The Mets took the Opening Day game, 1-0. The Braves answered with a come from-behind, 5-3 win in 10 innings on Saturday. On Sunday, lefty Sean Newcomb takes the mound for Atlanta against New York’s Rick Porcello.

The Braves looked to be on their way towards a second consecutive loss and a surefire series defeat after turning around what looked like another dud of an offensive performance. However, one at-bat can change everything, and Ozuna knocked the Braves back into the series with the perfect kill-shot over the right side of the fence.

Just like Jacob deGrom in the series-opening game, Steven Matz pitched the Braves into a corner they wouldn’t have found their way out of without the game-winning homer. The primary focus heading into Sunday’s finale must be on offense considering the defense has held the Mets to three combined runs in the last two outings.

UFC Fight Night July 15, 2020 – Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige

Tuesday, July 14th, 2020

Surging featherweight contenders clash Wednesday as Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night. The main card is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. The fight card will be the second consecutive UFC showcase held at UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, following the venue’s debut at UFC 251 on Saturday. The top-10 contenders are vying for position in a crowded division which is currently led by Alexander Volkanovski, who is coming off a controversial split-decision victory in a rematch against former champion Max Holloway.

The sixth-ranked Kattar is a -280 favorite, while the No. 10-ranked Ige is priced at +210 in the latest Kattar vs. Ige odds. The co-main event, Tim Elliott faces Ryan Benoit in a matchup of flyweight prospects..

Kattar last defeated Jeremy Stephens in a second-round knockout at UFC 249 on May 9, while Ige topped Edson Barboza in a third-round split decision at UFC Fight Night on May 16. The latter is riding a six-fight winning streak.

Kattar had won 10 consecutive fights before falling to Renato Moicano in a third-round unanimous decision in April 2018. Since then, the 32-year-old is 3-1.

This will be the first meeting for Ige and Kattar.

Calvin Kattar

The 6th ranked Featherweight Kattar has said he aims to go 3-0 this year. This would mean he needs to win 2 more times before the year’s end. His previous win came at the UFC 249 event where he destroyed Jeremy Stephens in the 2nd round. The fight was at Catchweight as Stephens missed the Featherweight limit by a huge margin.

Since his first fight with the UFC, in 2017, ‘The Boston Finisher’ has claimed 5 wins out of 7. 4 of these wins have come via KO and TKO. This matches a pattern in his career where he has claimed more than half of his wins (11/21) via knockout.

Do not expect him to go for submissions as he is known to stay away from them. Kattar’s previous submission win came 11 years ago when he fought for the World Championship Fighting promotion.

Dan Ige

The 10th ranked fighter is on a 6 fight win streak in the company. However, just one of these has come via knockout. This was his 2nd fight following the Contender series appearance. It came against Mike Santiago at UFC 225 within a minute of the first round. However, don’t expect him to engage in a striking match against an opponent who will be competing in a 5 rounder for the first time.

Both of Ige’s wins in 2020 have come via split decision. He beat Mirsad Bektic at UFC 247 and saw off a striker in Edson Barboza too at UFC in May. ‘Dynamite’ could look to employ the same strategy here too.

He will likely try to dodge ‘The Boston Finisher’ early and look to tire him out. As the fight goes deep, Ige may up his dominance or even go for a submission and try for his 6th win in that fashion.

A possible strategy for him could be to evade strikes and try to lock in a submission if he gets a perfect opening.
