The excitement begins on Sunday at 1PM Eastern Time as the Oklahoma City Thunder will make a road trip to face the Indiana Pacers. The Thunder and Pacers will get things started from Indiana at 1PM Eastern Time and ABC TV will provide the coast to coast broadcast. Despite the outcome from their Friday night meeting with the Miami Heat this will be an important game for the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers already own the tiebreakers on Miami no matter what happens on Friday night. Should the Pacers tie with Miami at the end of the regular season it would be Indiana earning home court advantage throughout the Eastern conference playoff. That means should the Pacers win or lose on Friday this game will have significant meeting for Indiana as they vie for home court against Miami should they meet in the Eastern conference finals. The Oklahoma City Thunder are an extreme longshot to catch the San Antonio Spurs for the top spot in the Western conference but the LA Clippers still have mathematical hope for catching the Thunder as they head into action on Friday. OKC will host New Orleans prior to this meeting with the Pacers. It was a huge win for Oklahoma City on Wednesday as they go into Staples Center on a back to back and beat the LA Clippers to take firm control over the second seed in the west.

The LA Lakers will be in an unusual spoiler role as they will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night. The two teams will get started from Staples Center in Los Angeles at 9:30PM Eastern Time over NBA TV. Memphis is fighting for a playoff berth with both the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns. These three clubs are around a game of each other and only two playoff spots are available in the bottom of the Western conference bracket.
