Now that the mid summer classic is behind us, Yankee Stadium can get back to being the home of the Yankees as they look to improve its standing in the division by hosting their first series after the break. Already six games back in the AL East, the Yankees will welcome in the Oakland A’s who also find themselves six-games off the pace of the AL West leading Los Angeles Angels. These teams squared off in Oakland back in mid June that saw the Yankees take two of three in a very closely contested series.

The A’s closed out the first half of their season on a down note losing two of three to the Angels at home, and come into this weekends series with the Yankees 5-5 their L/10. On the road, the A’s are an even .500 at 20-20 reeling in $479 for their betting backers on the year.

After splitting with Boston at home and taking two in a row from the Tampa Bay Rays, the Yankees went on to lose three of their final four games before the break. New York boasts a winning record within Yankee Stadium (27-22), but have cost the betting public upwards of $800 simply due to the fact that they’re always overpriced in this venue.

Oakland has dominated this series of late winning nine of the L/13 overall meetings, and six of their last seven trips to the “Big Apple”.
