Arizona had dominated this head to head series the past five seasons as the Cardinals has won nine of their past ten meetings with a 5-0 straight up mark on the road at St Louis. Arizona swept both regular season meetings last season with a 19-13 overtime home win and in the rematch the Cardinals get the 23-20 win at St Louis. The Cardinals covered the betting line in each of their two regular season meetings in 2010 and has covered four of their past five against the Rams. The under has trended big time as the Rams and Cardinals play under the total in seven of their past eight meetings. After pounding the Philadelphia Eagles at home 27-6 the Cardinals needed overtime last week as they beat the Miami Dolphins 24-21 as a -4 point home favorite. Kevin Kolb drove the Cardinals for the game tying touchdown that culminated in a 15 yards pass to Andre Roberts to tie the game with 22 seconds remaining to be played. St Louis is 2-2 on the season with both wins coming at home and the losses on the road. In week two the Rams earn the 31-28 home win against the Washington Redskins. Last week they faced the Seattle Seahawks in an NFC west divisional game and earned the 19-13 home win and covering as a +2 point underdog. St Louis has seen better play from their defense as they rank 14th in total defense allowing 348 yards per game. On offense the team ranks 27th in the league as they gain just 287 yards per game during the 2012 season.
