Arizona St has won and covered their past three meetings with the Colorado Buffaloes with each win coming by 17 points or more. Last year the Sun Devils crushed Colorado 48-14 as a -32 point favorite at home. The Sun Devils are a much improved team in 2012 following the coaching change as the club is 4-1 on the season playing with much more discipline on the field. Gone from this program are the stupid 15 yard penalties that had been a custom during the Dennis Erickson era at Arizona St. The Sun Devils are 1-1 on the road in 2012. On September 15th Arizona St fought hard but come up short in a 24-20 road defeat at Missouri as a +3 ½ point underdog. On September 29th Arizona St went on the road to California and came away with the 27-17 win as a -2 ½ point favorite. The Sun Devils will face Colorado off a bye week. It looks like another miserable season for the Colorado Buffaloes with a head coaching change almost a certainty. Jon Embry is in his second season with the program and compiled a 3-10 season in 2011 in his initial campaign. In 2012 the Buffaloes have awful losses to Colorado St and a program humiliating home defeat in week two against Sacramento St an FCS school 30-28. After the loss to the small college team the hapless Colorado Buffaloes were ripped apart the following week at Nevada by the score of 69-14 as a +14 ½ point underdog. Prior to their bye week Colorado was pounded at home to UCLA 42-14 as a +19 ½ point underdog.
