The current starters on Sunday Night will feature Felix Doubront a Boston left hander squaring off with Hiroki Kuroda for the New York Yankees. Doubront checks in with a 2012 record of 10-5 with an ERA of 4 ½ runs. He looks to rebound after a poor start on July 23rd as the Red Sox hurler was lit up for six earned runs and eight hits in a 9-1 road defeat to the Texas Rangers. He has a win this season against the Yankees in his lone start this year on July 7th as the Red Sox beat New York 9-5. Doubront worked 6 1/3rd innings and gave up three earned runs and four hits to the Yankees hitters. Hiroki Kuroda makes his 21st start of the year as he takes the mound on Sunday Night Baseball. Kuroda is in his first season with the New York Yankees after spending his Major League Baseball career with the LA Dodgers. The Yankees right hander has a record of 10-7 with an ERA of 3.34 and WHIP of 1.18. After a slow start to the 2012 campaign Kuroda has pitched in much better form to move his ERA near three runs. The Yankees team record in Kuroda’s past six starts is a perfect 6-0. He has had two great outings heading into this start against the Red Sox. In those two games Kuroda allowed a combined just one earned run and seven hits working a total of 14 innings in victories against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 18th and the Seattle Mariners on July 23rd. He faced the Red Sox on July 6th and got bombed for six earned runs and ten hits in a 10-8 win against the Boston. Kuroda threw 5 2/3rd innings plus gave up ten hits in that outing.
