A couple of first place teams will butt heads over the weekend when the Chicago White Sox pay a visit to Tropicana Field to take on the Tampa Bay Rays for the remainder of their four-game set. The White Sox are coming off a series win at Cleveland where they took two of three overall to improve its road mark to 16-14 and they come into this series winners in nine of their L/13 on the road. At 29-23, the White Sox sit two games in front of the Minnesota Twins for the top spot in the AL Central.

The Tampa Bay Rays own the best record in the American League at 32-21, which is also tied with the Chicago Cubs for the best record in all of baseball. Needless to say, this is the best start Tampa has gotten off to in the history of the franchise. With a home record of 21-9, the Rays have been one of the sharpest bets anyone could make as they’ve currently brought in a lofty $1106.00 in profits if wagered upon in every home game.

Friday night’s match-up will pit (5-3) Jose Contreras against (4-3) James Shields in a game that should be dominated by the starting pitching. Both teams’ aces, (5-3) Javier Vazquez for Chicago and (4-1) Scott Kazmir for the Rays, will go toe-to-toe in Saturday evening’s online betting affair. (2-6) Mark Buehrle and (6-3) Andy Sonnanstine will get the starting nods in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.
