It all gets underway at 5PM Eastern Time on TBS TV as it is game one of the NLDS with the Atlanta Braves hosting the St Louis Cardinals. The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the home side Atlanta Braves favored by -132 odds with the return on the underdog St Louis Cardinals at +122 odds. Run total is set at 8 ½ runs. On the mound for St Louis will be Miles Mikolas as he will oppose Braves lefty Dallas Keuchel. Atlanta has won three of their four meetings on the season. St Louis needed Game 162 to clinch the NL Central after their 9-0 home win to the Chicago Cubs. Cardinals had to use their best pitcher Jack Flaherty in the division clinching game so he will have to pitch later in this series. Braves were champions of the NL East building a big lead making their final week and a half meaningless. Mikolas in his past start held the Cubs to two runs one earned in 7 2/3rd innings back on September 22nd. Keuchel worked on September 27th at the Mets giving up four runs over five innings. Team is 0-3 in his past three starts.

At 8:37PM Eastern Time on TBS TV it is Game 1 of the NLDS series between the Washington Nationals and LA Dodgers. Play begins from LA at 8:37PM Eastern Time. The Nationals announced one hour after their NL Wildcard win that lefthander Patrick Corbin will get the start in the opener on Thursday. Nationals rallied from a two run deficit with three runs in the eighth inning in their NL Wildcard win against the Brewers 4-3. Patrick Corbin looks to rebound after a bad outing at home to Cleveland giving up six runs in 4 1/3rd innings. Corbin has been blessed with run support with the Nationals 4-0 in his past four starts. Washington with their win in the NL Wildcard has now won nine straight games all at home. LA were champions of the NL West division. They did conclude play winning seven straight with six of those contests on the road. Dodgers were undecided with their Game 1 starter but candidates who have done their best work at home are Walker Buehler and Hyun Jin Ryu.

The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the home side Oakland Athletics favored by -134 odds with the return on the underdog Tampa Bay Rays at +124 odds. Run total came in at 7 ½ runs.

Getting the start for Tampa Bay will be Charlie Morton. Oakland is hinting that left hander Sean Manea will be their likely starter on Wednesday. The winner of this game will meet the Houston Astros in the ALDS.

Tampa Bay did lose four of their seven meetings with the Athletics with all games home and away taking part in the month of June. Rays finished with a 96-66 record and 48-33 on the road. They failed to gain home field in this game based on a road defeat at Toronto 4-1 on Saturday making their regular season finale meaningless. Rays got great work from their bullpen this season with a Team ERA of 3.71. Charlie Morton enters play with a 16-6 record with ERA of 3.05. He comes off a solid outing at home to the New York Yankees giving up no runs and a hit over six innings of a 4-0 home win during a heated AL Wildcard race.

Oakland concluded regular season play at 97-65 with a 52-29 mark in their home ballpark. Their bullpen also performed well with an ERA of 3.89. Athletics went 3-3 in meaningful games down the stretch. Their final game of the regular season was meaningless as they clinched home field in the AL Wildcard on Saturday. They have only scored three runs or fewer in their past seven games. Sean Manaea missed a year of baseball with a shoulder injury. He returned to the rotation on September 1st. He is 4-0 with an ERA of 1.21 in 29 2/3rd innings in five starts. In his last start the left hander allowed one run over six innings of a 3-1 road win at Seattle.

Getting the start for Washington will be Max Scherzer to oppose Brewers right hander Brandon Woodruff. The winner of this game will board a plane and face the LA Dodgers to open the NLDS on Thursday.

Milwaukee enters the postseason with an 89-73 record. They finished with a 40-41 mark on the road. Teams met four times this season with the Brewers winning four of those games. They made up ground in the NL Central race falling two games back of St Louis. Brewers were swept in a three game series at Colorado which sent the team into the one game NL Wildcard. Brandon Woodruff has a record of 11-3 on the season with ERA of 3.62. He missed two months with an oblique injury and had two appearances leading up to the postseason. They were each two innings stints at home to Pittsburgh and San Diego where the right hander allowed no runs and no hits.

Washington got off to a rocky start to their season. They were getting good outings from their starting rotation only to be foiled by ineffective relief pitching. Nationals did rally to win their final eight games and ten of past eleven. Washington bullpen ended the regular season with an ERA of 5.68 and WHIP of 1.48. Max Scherzer missed much of the month of August with a muscle strain. He has not been sharp since his return. He is 2-2 with an ERA of 4.74 upon his return to the Nationals rotation. He has limited base runners with a WHIP of 1.16 in that span with 54 strikeouts in 38 innings. He faced Milwaukee once this season allowing one earned run over six innings with ten strikeouts in early May.
