At 5:05PM Eastern Time from Memphis on CBS TV the North Carolina Tar Heels face the Kentucky Wildcats. North Carolina is favored by -2.5 with over under odds lined at 159.5 points. This is a rematch as the teams met in Las Vegas in December with Kentucky winning 103-100 as each team has big shooting games. Kentucky has faced tough competition as they earned a second round victory to Wichita St and a Sweet Sixteen 86-75 victory to a highly touted UCLA Bruins. Wildcats shot 49% in the victory. From Kansas City at 8:49PM Eastern Time the Kansas Jayhawks meet the Oregon Ducks. Kansas is favored by -7 points with an over under line set at 156 ½ points. Kansas has been one of the most impressive teams in the NCAA Tournament. Jayhawks opened up the NCAA Tournament with a 38 point victory to UC Davis. Then it was a win by 20 to Michigan St. In the Sweet Sixteen the Jayhawks crushed Purdue 98-66 as a five point favorite. Kansas has scored 90 or greater points in all three games of the NCAA Tournament. Oregon had victories in the tournament with Iona, Rhode Island by three and in the Sweet Sixteen it was a one point victory to Michigan. The Ducks have won the rebounding battle by considerable margin in all three games.

South Carolina outscored Marquette by 21 points in the second half for a 93-73 victory at a pick. Duke covered the 19 ½ point first round spread against the Troy Trojans 87-65.

Wichita St’s best win in non-conference came against a bad Oklahoma team. Plus, three of their four losses came by double digits. Dayton is a 24 win team that enters play on a two game losing streak. They were one and done in the A10 tournament losing to Davidson 73-69 as a 4 point favorite.

The late night game tips at 9:50PM Eastern Time from Greensville South Carolina as the South Carolina Gamecocks face Marquette Golden Eagles on TBS TV. South Carolina strength is their defense as they allow 39% from the field with 29% from three. Marquette enters the NCAA Tournament as the best three point shooting team in college basketball at 43%.

VCU ran into a hot Rhode Island team in the A10 championship game on Sunday where they suffered the 70-63 defeat as a +1 ½ point underdog to quality for the NCAA Tournament as an at large team.

The late night game tips at 9:40PM Eastern Time from Buffalo as the Wisconsin Badgers will meet the Virginia Tech Hokies. Wisconsin is favored by -5 ½ points with the total lined at 136 ½ points. Wisconsin struggled down the stretch but did well enough to make it into the Big Ten championship game where they lost to Michigan. This is rematch of a first round meeting a season ago where Providence eliminated USC. The Trojans had an impressive record of 24-9 on the season. Though in conference play the team had a notable win against UCLA but had difficulty against Arizona and Oregon. The Trojans do have a notable non-conference win against SMU. What landed USC most likely into this humbling play in game for a power conference team with 24 wins is at terrible loss at Arizona St where the team blew a double digit lead late in the game in a big time collapse. Providence earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament behind a late season six game win streak that came prior to their loss to Creighton in the quarterfinals of the Big East tournament.
