Former NFL MVP Cam Newton signs with the New England Patriots

Monday, June 29th, 2020

The New England Patriots have reportedly reached an agreement with former National Football League MVP Cam Newton.
The former Carolina Panthers quarterback will now step into the mix to compete for the chance to replace former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who left to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency.

Newton is signing a one-year deal with New England, sources saying the bare minimum deal with Newton has been quietly in the works. The deal is worth up to $7.5 million.
The first overall pick of the 2011 draft, Newton became a free agent after the rebuilding Carolina Panthers released him on March 24 with one year left on his contract.
Despite his impressive body of work, Newton remained unsigned for three months thanks largely to uncertainty over his health.

A surgically repaired throwing shoulder and a Lisfranc fracture in his left foot limited Newton to just two games in 2019. Based on the many workout videos he has posted on his social media platforms this offseason, Newton appears to have recovered. But because of the coronavirus restrictions that forced the closing of NFL facilities, teams were unable to host the quarterback and have him take a physical to confirm that his shoulder and foot were indeed structurally sound.

Now, the question is who will take over as Brady’s successor in 2020. Will it be the inexperienced Stidham, or will it be the proven, albeit injury-prone, veteran Newton?

Either way, Patriots training camp just got a whole lot more interesting.

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the Houston Texans selecting a defensive player first favored at -140 odds with an offensive player the underdog at +110 odds.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

Houston finished up the 2019 regular season with a mark of 10-6 winning the AFC South division. In the playoffs they beat Buffalo at home. In an AFC Divisional playoff, the Texans blew a huge lead in a 51-31 road defeat at Kansas City. On offense the team averaged 401 yards per game in the playoffs. But on defense surrendering an average of 430 yards. During the regular season, the Texans ranked 29th in pass defense and struggled defending the run allowing 4.8 yards per attempt. They were 31st and second last defending third downs with last in the NFL in red zone defense.

Texans have no first round pick in 2020 and has one pick in the second round. They have pick 40 which is taken in round two. With those poor defensive numbers mock draft experts have Houston selecting Iowa defensive end AJ Epenesa. He ranks as the third best defensive end entering the draft. Scouts like his size, first step and ability to disrupt opponents passing game. Team is also looking to improve their safety position with Ashtyn Davis from Cal a possibility.

Head coach Bill O’Brien is now the general manager and enters his first draft in both roles. He recently told the media that he prefers best available over need sometimes. He made a major trade moving wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona. The run game is a need for the Texans with David and Duke Johnson in the rotation. Two running backs are projected to be taken before pick forty. That is no lock as running back D’Andre Swift is projected to be selected at 32 and J.K. Dobbins going 37th. If Swift and Dobbins are available for Houston at 40, then O’Brien may opt for the best or second best running back in the draft.

NFL Pro Football 2020 Draft Odds Teams 1st Selection: Green Bay Packers

The NFL draft is just days away to the satisfaction of sports bettors and fans awaiting meaningful content. A look at the Green Bay Packers first selection in the draft on either offense or defense.

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has Green Bay Packers first pick in the draft to be on offense at -300 odds with defense underdog at +220 odds.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

Green Bay Packers concluded their regular season with a 13-3 record tied with two other teams with best record in NFC. They beat Seattle in the divisional round of the playoffs and were blown out on the road to San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game. Packers surrendered 285 yards rushing to the 49ers in defeat. Opponents rushed for 4.7 yards per carry on the Green Bay defense which was 24th in the NFL. On the season the team did struggle moving the chains ranking 23rd on third down conversions.

Packers sit with the 30th pick in the draft. With their lack of success on third down the team may look to add a weapon in the passing game for veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The mock drafts have five receivers drafted ahead of the Green Bay’s 30th pick in the draft. The experts have Green Bay going with Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins. He would be a big target for Rodgers. The Tigers draft prospect is good size near six foot four inches tall which could help the Packers move those chains. USC wide out Michael Pittman Jr. ranks right below Higgins. Pittman also has size at six foot four inches. Scouts like his ability to shed tacklers for additional yardage. He also contributed for USC on special teams.

Team is in need for help on defense at inside linebacker and cornerback. Scouts have rated the Packers linebackers as the weakest in the league. If the Ravens pass on their draft need for inside linebacker then the best prospect could be available to Green Bay in Patrick Queen from LSU. Four cornerbacks are projected to go before the Packers draft with the 30th pick. Jeff Okudah is a lock to go early. Everyone else is not so an outside chance for the second best corner CJ Henderson from Florida slipping down the first round.

NFL Pro Football 2020 Draft Odds Teams 1st Selection: Denver Broncos

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020

The NFL draft is fast approaching to the satisfaction of sports bettors and fans worldwide. A look at the betting odds of the Denver Broncos first pick of the draft being on offense or defense.

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has Denver Broncos favored by -300 odds to select an offensive player first with a defensive player the underdog at +220 odds.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

Denver concluded play in 2019 with a 7-9 record tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for second place in the AFC West. Team struggled on offense sitting 28th in the NFL in yardage and points scored. Broncos sat in the upper third in the league in yards and points allowed. The free agent signing of Joe Flacco did not work as the veteran lacked of mobility resulted in too many stalled drives. They were 30th and third last converting third downs. Rookie Drew Lock looks to start at quarterback as the team went 4-1 in the games he started last season.

Broncos will make the 15th pick in this draft. They are in the need for a wide receiver playmaker in the passing game to aid their young quarterback. There is a possibility that the fourth best receiving prospect will be available to the Broncos with pick fifteen. Mock draft experts have Justin Jefferson, a wide out from LSU going to Denver. He put up monster numbers in his final season at LSU with 111 catches with 18 touchdowns and 13.9 yards per reception. Scouts like his route running and courage to go across the middle. They would like him to get stronger to battle off defenders firing off the line of scrimmage.

Going with defense with the first pick is rated as a longshot in the betting odds. Denver needs a cornerback. There is a possibility that the best four wide receivers will be selected before the Broncos pick at fifteen. If that is the case, Denver could be looking at a decision. Should the Broncos draft the second best corner or fifth best receiver with their first pick. Experts believe there is a huge drop off in quality in receivers when you go from the best four prospects to the fifth prospect. That would open the possibility of Denver drafting Florida corner CJ Henderson.

NFL Pro Football 2020 Draft Odds Teams 1st Selection: Chicago Bears

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020

The NFL draft is now less than a week away providing meaningful sports content to the desire of sports fans and bettors worldwide. A look at the Chicago Bears first draft pick being on either offense or defense.

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has Chicago Bears drafting a defensive player at -150 odds with an offensive player returning +120 odds.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

Chicago finished the 2018 campaign with a disappointing 8-8 record missing the playoffs. Bears struggled on offense ranking 29th in the league in yardage and points scored. With quarterback Mitch Trubisky the Bears averaged only 5.3 yards per attempt which ranked 32nd and last in the NFL. Only 29.1% of their drives resulted in scoring ranking 29th.

The Bears traded away their first round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders receiving an impact linebacker in Khalil Mack. They have two second round picks with the 43rd and 50th pick in the draft. In this wager we will focus on who Chicago selects with pick 43, their first pick in this draft.

Chicago made a big move in free agency by signing quarterback Nick Foles. Bears may be looking for pass protection and a weapon in the passing game. Who they take first could depend of who rates best against their peers entering the draft. Mock draft experts have Chicago looking a tight end to help in run blocking and passing game. Tight ends are not projected to go in the first round and early in the second. Here at 43, Chicago could have the ability to draft the best tight end in the draft instead of an offensive lineman that is ranked lower against their peers. Wide receiver is more likely later in the second round for Chicago because too many will go in the first and early second round.

Bears could be looking for depth at the linebacker position so that is a defensive option for the team with the 43rd pick. Shaquille Quarterman started all four seasons on good defenses of the Miami Hurricanes. Good numbers in four seasons with 13 sacks and 46 ½ tackles for loss. Scouts like his ability to run defend and sniff out running plays making contact on backs behind the line of scrimmage.

NFL Pro Football 2020 Draft Odds Teams 1st Selection: Buffalo Bills

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020

The NFL draft is fast approaching much to the satisfaction of sports fans and bettors worldwide. A look at the betting odds on the first selection in the draft by the Buffalo Bills on offense or defense.

 $1,000 NFL DRAFT Contest

Bet the NFL this season at Oddsmaker sportsbook, where bettors can now Claim our Free 100% Casino Bonus up to $2,000. Deposit today and get into the excitement of watching and wagering on your favorite NFL pro football team!

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has Buffalo drafting a defensive player first at -140 odds with an offensive player first bringing back +110 odds.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

Bills come off a successful 2019 campaign finishing with a 10-6 record. They entered into the playoffs as an AFC Wildcard team losing on the road to the Houston Texans 22-19. They were 10-4 until suffering two straight regular season losses then the playoff loss making it three straight defeats to close the season.

Buffalo has no first round pick. They traded for Minnesota Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs in exchange for picks including their first pick which was 22nd in the 2020 draft. Buffalo will now have the 54th pick in the draft which occurs in the second round. Even with the signing of Diggs the Bills are in need of receiver help and could look in that direction with their second round pick. Team needs weapons to support young quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills were 26th in the league in passing yardage and 23rd in scoring. Buffalo was led to the playoffs by the play of their defense.

Wide receivers are a premium in the draft with several selected in the first round. Mock drafts have Buffalo selecting Chase Claypool a wide out from Notre Dame. He played all four seasons with the Fighting Irish. He put up his best numbers as a senior where he had 66 catches with 13 touchdowns and 15.7 yards per receptions.

Bills could also be in the market for a cornerback with their first pick in the draft. They have a shot at their draft position of getting the fifth of sixth best player at corner coming out. Corners AJ Terrell from Clemson or Jeff Gladney from TCU could be available to the team late in the second round. Terrell started two years at Clemson. Scouts are concerned about his strength in man to man coverage feeling that receivers wont struggle to fire off the line of scrimmage. Gladney started four seasons with the Horned Frogs. Experts like his coverage skills but has size issues if covering the taller receivers in the league.

NFL Pro Football 2020 Draft Odds 3rd Overall Pick

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020

We are now a week away from the NFL draft which takes place on Thursday April 23rd with the first round. A look at the betting odds for which player will be the third overall pick in the 2020 draft. The Detroit Lions hold the third pick in the draft. There are rumors that teams could move up and trade picks for the Lions first round pick.

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has Jeff Okudah favored at +100 odds to be taken third. The Lions if they do not trade here could be in the market for Okudah. Their head coach Matt Patricia is on the hot seat and were one of the worst defensive teams in the league surrendering 284.4 yards per game passing. Scouts have Okudah starting as a rookie in the league and like his speed on the corner.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

Second in the wagering is Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovaiola at +200 odds. Lions have Matthew Stafford under contract. But he has been injury prone and Detroit has not had success on the field. Tua could be available as Cincinnati is expected to take Joe Burrow first. The Washington Redskins with the second pick may not look at quarterback after selecting Dwayne Haskins in the first round last year. Which opens the possibility of Detroit selecting a quarterback for the future.

Next is Isaiah Simmons at +450 odds. Pressure on the quarterback is important. The best secondaries in the league will all struggle when the quarterback is allowed a lot of time to throw. Scouts likes his ability to rush from the edge. Past two years with Clemson, Simmons have 9.5 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss.

Longshots are Chase Young at +800 odds and Derrick Brown at +4000. Chase Young could be available to Detroit if the Redskins give up on 2019 first round pick Dwayne Haskins and draft Tua Tagovaiola. If the Lions believes it is too high to draft a corner with the third pick, they could look to the better defensive linemen available in Derrick Brown.

Any other player drafted third will fall under a field bet that brings back +550 odds. Should the Lions look for a quarterback of the future they could go with Justin Herbert if they are afraid of the injury problems of Tua in his time with Alabama.

NFL Pro Football 2020 Draft Odds Teams 1st Selection: Baltimore Ravens

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020

The NFL Draft set for Thursday April 23rd with fans hopeful for an uninterrupted return in early September. A check at the betting odds for the first selection of the Baltimore Ravens on offense or defense.

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has Baltimore Ravens selecting a defensive player first at -150 odds with offensive player the underdog at +120 odds.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

After a successful regular season in 2019, the Baltimore Ravens sit with the 28th pick in the first round of the draft. They sat with the best record in the NFL regular season at 14-2. The end came shockingly in the playoffs as the Ravens fell 28-12 at home to the Tennessee Titans. Three turnovers led to the demise of the Ravens. They also struggled on defense containing a Titans team that posted 217 rushing yards. Baltimore was the top scoring team in the league and third defensively in points allowed. They ran the football more than any other team and threw it the fewest. They were best in the NFL in scoring on 52.1% of their drives. But 26th defensively allowing scoring 32% of the time.

Baltimore suffered some turnovers to their defensive line in the offseason but took care of that in a trade and free agency. Mock draft experts are suggesting the team to select a linebacker first. They lost linebacker CJ Mosely in free agency a season ago and haven’t been able to find someone as talented in that position. Ravens could be looking at LSU linebacker Patrick Queen who leaves school after his junior season. Queen put up solid numbers in his final year in college. The Tigers linebacker posted 3 sacks and 12 tackles for loss. Scouts like his range in coverage and his speed closing in on ball carriers. They feel he can start right away in the league.

Another option for the Ravens in the first round is to draft an offensive guard. They lose Marshal Yanda to retirement after thirteen seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He made eight Pro Bowls and his replacement has big shoes to fill. There are no offensive guards selected by the mock drafts when it is the Ravens turn to draft. That opens the possibility of the Ravens to pick the best guard in the draft.

NFL Pro Football 2020 Draft Odds When is CJ Henderson Selected?

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020

The NFL Draft is just over a week away on Thursday April 23rd as the league hopes there can be no interruption to the start of the regular season. A look at when Florida Gators cornerback CJ Henderson is drafted.

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has CJ Henderson drafted at 15.5 with under favored at -125 odds with over bringing back -105 odds.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

CJ Henderson played three seasons at Florida as he exits following his junior campaign. He picked off six passes in his college career but none in his final season. The cornerback is the fifteenth rated best prospect entering the draft. The scouts like his speed and his ability to keep up with front line receivers running deep patterns. They would like to see Henderson get stronger to better fight of receivers at the line of scrimmage to slow them down in their routes.

The mock draft experts have CJ Henderson going to the Las Vegas Raiders who have the twelfth pick in the draft. That would be the second corner taken in the draft. Ohio St cornerback Jeff Okudah is expected to go third to the Detroit Lions who are looking to better their defense. Lions were last in the NFL in defending the pass and head coach Matt Patricia is on the hot seat entering the season. Las Vegas has two draft picks in the first round. Raiders are weak at the receiver position so that is a need and the team could go in that direction here. Las Vegas has the 19th pick in the first round and could look for Henderson there. But that is a big risk as the Dallas Cowboys with the 17th pick is in need of help in their secondary.

Behind Henderson at the position is Trevon Diggs who is rated as the third best corner in this draft. Diggs played all four seasons at Alabama but as a freshman was a wide receiver. In 2017 Diggs moved to corner and posted three interceptions in his senior season. The Crimson Tide corner limits yardage following catches and does a good job defending the run according to the scouts.

NFL Pro Football 2020 Draft Odds When is Justin Jefferson Selected?

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2020
The NFL draft is set for Thursday April 23rd as the league is less than five months away from getting the regular season started. A look at when LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson is selected in the NFL draft.

$1000 NFL DRAFT Contest

Bet the NFL this season at Oddsmaker sportsbook, where bettors can now Claim our Free 100% Casino Bonus up to $2,000. Deposit today and get into the excitement of watching and wagering on your favorite NFL pro football team!

The current odds at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has Justin Jefferson taken with the 21.5 pick. Under 21.5 is favored at -115 odds with over returning -105 odds.

100% Casino Bonus and 25% Casino Cash Back Offer

Justin Jefferson is rated as the 18th best player available in the NFL draft. He is fourth rated best wide receiver in the draft. Jefferson leaves LSU after his junior season. He saw little action in his two games as a freshman. The Tigers wide receiver posted a solid final season with 111 catches with 13.9 yards per completion and 18 touchdowns. He had the most receptions in all of college football in 2019. Scouts like his speed in fly patterns and his ability to catch passes across the middle. Can make players miss following the catch. Ahead of Jefferson at wide out are Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb and Henry Ruggs III. The experts believe there is not much drop off to Jefferson from those three. CeeDee Lamb ran patterns at Oklahoma against weak Big 12 pass defenses. Alabama wide out Henry Ruggs ran alongside top receiver prospect Jerry Jeudy. Jefferson has a shot to move ahead of Lamb and Ruggs.

Receivers, quarterbacks and pass rushers are a premium in the first round of the NFL draft. Mock drafts have the first receiver going in the draft to the New York Jets who have the 11th pick. New York has a weak receiver roster to support their young quarterback Sam Darnold. Las Vegas Raiders with the 12th pick is also weak at the receiver position and likely to select a wide out here. Especially with the prospect of getting the second best receiver in the draft. The 49ers have the 13th pick and are in the market for receiver. They just lost Emmanuel Sanders in free agency. With the 20th pick the Jacksonville Jaguars could select a receiver here. They also have the ninth pick and could be looking at a quarterback there. So, a weapon to help their rookie quarterback makes sense for the Jaguars with their 20th selection. The Eagles have the 21st pick and were decimated with injuries at receiver last season. Philadelphia has needs at linebacker also, so it is a toss up with the 21st pick in this draft.
