Jets offense was held to only 223 yards with 68 rushing on 21 carries. Sam Darnold played the whole game and went only 28 of 41 for 175 yards and a touchdown. LeVeon Bell in his Jets debut had 17 carries for 60 yards. New York did force four Buffalo turnovers and finished the game with a +3 turnover margin.

Cleveland has concerns about the health of quarterback Baker Mayfield. He had to have his hand wrapped following Sunday’s game with a left hand contusion. That hand was not wrapped during practice this week as the quarterback was sacked five times in their 43-13 home defeat to Tennessee in their opener. Mayfield was holding the football too long as his receivers were having trouble getting open downfield. Browns finished with three turnovers in the game as Mayfield threw three interceptions. Team gained 346 yards rushing for 102 yards on 20 carries. Defensively the Browns allowed Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota to complete 14 of 24 passes for 248 yards and three touchdowns. The current odds available for wagering at Oddsmaker, where the bonuses are the best in the business has the home side New Orleans Saints favored by -6 ½ points with the total lined at 52 ½ points. New Orleans return to regular season play after two consecutive seasons with playoff eliminations in brutal fashion. They added depth to their running back position by picking up Latavious Murray in free agency. Also added was tight end Jared Cook to an offense that generated 30 points and 376 yards per game. Incredibly New Orleans has lost five season openers in a row with last year resulting in a 48-40 home loss to Tampa Bay. Saints follow up this game on a short week traveling out west to meet the Rams on Sunday to begin back to back road games ending at Seattle. Houston were champions of the AFC South last year at 11-6 eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by Indianapolis. They have lost two openers in a row. Last season the Texans began with a three game losing streak.

The late night game begins at 8:20PM Eastern Time on ESPN TV as the Oakland Raiders are home to the Denver Broncos. Denver is favored by -2 ½ points with the over under line of 42 ½ points. They signed former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and had to cut him as it didn’t work out. Oakland drafted heavily on defense, so they are younger and faster hoping to get better results. Vic Fangio a longtime NFL defensive assistant since the 1980s takes over as head coach. Team picked up starting quarterback Joe Flacco. He is not a mobile quarterback so the Broncos run game will have to be as good as last season for Flacco’s play action passes to freeze the defense and work.
