Central Michigan enters the Miami Beach Bowl on a down note losers of four of their past five games. They became bowl eligible with a 27-20 home victory to Ohio but lost the following week to Eastern Michigan on the road 26-21. Their point production really came down the final few weeks of the season. They relied greatly on the pass as they rank as the 26th best passing team in the nation. They could not establish their running game as they rank 116th in the nation rushing for only 119 yards per game which hurts them when the weather changes in November. Quarterback Cooper Rush is a senior who has thrown only two touchdowns passes over his past three games. On the year he has completed 61% of his passes for 3300 yards with 23 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. On the defensive side of the ball the team is about average in every category imaginable. They allow 28 points per game which is 69th in the nation.

Tulsa has seen their program move back into possible double digit in victories. They are 9-3 and heavily favored in this game. They enter in good form having won two straight and four of their past five games. What kept them out of the AAC championship game was a two point road loss at Navy. The Golden Hurricane is an outstanding offensive team sitting near the Top Ten of college football in scoring, rushing and total offense. They are averaging 41 points and 523 yards per game. Quarterback Dane Evans in his senior year is completing 58% of his passes with 27 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
