The Clemson Tigers have dominated recent head to head meetings in ACC conference play against NC State. Clemson has won eight of their past nine meetings against the Wolfpack but the last game played at NC State was won by the Wolfpack 37-13 as a +7 ½ point home underdog. Taj Boyd played in that game as a sophomore and connected on 21 of 34 throws for 238 yards and two interceptions. On the NC State side that was with NFL quarterback Mike Glennon at quarterback but he is not there anymore. Last year at home Clemson got their revenge as they defeat NC State by the score of 62-48 as a -15 point betting favorite. The Wolfpack have been underdogs in their past three meetings and covered the point spread in all three games. In last years victory Taj Boyd hit on 30 of 44 passes for 426 yards with five touchdowns and two picks. The team was balanced as they ran for 328 yards and over 5 ½ yards a carry on the NC State offense. The Wolfpack put up impressive passing statistics but that was with Mike Glennon under center. First year starting quarterback Pete Thomas for the Wolfpack is hitting on 67.2% of his throws with no touchdowns and three picks. The problem with these numbers is they came against Louisiana Tech and non-FBS school Richmond. In week two NC State had problems with Richmond winning 23-21 as a -23 ½ point favorite. Clemson is 2-0 with wins at home against Georgia and non-FBS school South Carolina St.
