As a -24 point favorite it was Clemson pulling out the 27-23 win not covering against Syracuse. Tigers faced Notre Dame in the semifinals and won 30-3 covering as a -10 ½ point favorite. The Tigers defense held the Fighting Irish to only 248 yards. Clemson offense posted 538 yards running for 211 for 5.7 yards a carry. Freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 69.2% of his throws in the win passing for three touchdowns and no interceptions. The Tigers first year quarterback has thrown for 27 touchdowns and four interceptions.
