Virginia struggled getting separation against PAC 12 tournament champion Oregon winning 53-49. Then the Cavaliers faced a young upstart team in the Purdue Boilermakers. Virginia was taken to overtime and came away with the 80-75 win. In their Final Four contest the Virginia Cavaliers faced Auburn. Down by two points late the Cavaliers were fouled with half a second remaining from the three point line and made all three free throws to gain the victory. In that win against the Tigers it was Virginia shooting 49% and making 7 of 19 from three. Team struggled at the free throw line with 6 of 12 conversions.
