The Nuggets have been trying to make the most from injuries to key personnel. They have been without scorer Danilo Gallinari for nearly a month and he is close to returning to the lineup following an ankle sprain but is not expected to play tonight. Good news appears to be on the horizon for this injury maligned squad as center Nene and guard Rudy Fernandez are both expected to return to the lineup tonight for Denver. Nene has missed nine games with a calf muscle injury while Fernandez had been sidelined for six games with a back strain. Following the All Star break the Nuggets have been able to string together consecutive wins with a nine point home victory against Portland and on Friday night the team won at Houston by 12 points. Point guard Ty Lawson shined in the Nuggets win at Houston with 22 points and 15 assists.

San Antonio has beaten Denver twice this season as the Spurs have been explosive offensively with 114 and 117 points scored in the two wins. They have been one of the hottest teams in the Association with 13 victories in their past 15 games. After a loss on Wednesday night to the Chicago Bulls the Spurs bounced back by trouncing the hapless Charlotte Bobcats by 30 points on Friday night. It should be a high scoring affair tonight as the Nuggets push across nearly 104 points a game while the Spurs post up 99 points. The Spurs may welcome back guard Manu Ginobili to the lineup tonight. He has been bothered by an oblique injury since mid-February.
