The Colts are in a tailspin as they enter play with a record of 3-4 as they have lost back to back games all at home. Two weeks ago it was the Patriots earning a 34-27 victory and last week the New Orleans Saints went into town and defeated Indianapolis 27-21 as a +5 ½ point underdog. Indy was lethargic to open the game as they fell behind 20-0 at the half. The Saints extended their lead to 27-0 early in the third quarter. To their credit the Colts mounted a comeback by scoring the next 21 points highlighted by two T.Y. Hilton long touchdown catches of 87 and 46 yards. The Colts cut it to 27-21 with an Andrew Luck eight yard touchdown pass but Indianapolis failed to recover the ensuing onside kick and the Saints held on for the victory. The Colts offense has been getting plenty of negative press as their point production is down from a season ago. The defense has been very poor as the club is 32nd and last in the NFL in yards allowed by giving up 408 on the season.

The Carolina Panthers are 6-0 on the season after a home win on Sunday night to the Philadelphia Eagles 27-16. Prior to that win the team traveled up to Seattle and a late Cam Newton touchdown drive made the difference in a 27-23 road victory. Carolina is the top rushing team in the NFL as Cam Newton is a major threat to run the football and has been good in this situation on third down conversions.
