Iona and BYU are likely the last two at large teams in the NCAA Tournament. The Gaels sports an overall record of 25-7 on the season. They were an upset victim in the finals of the MAAC Tournament as they dropped an 85-75 decision to the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds as a -4 ½ point betting favorite. Iona was playing their second game in two nights. The Gaels are a very high scoring team as they average 83 points per game which is the best in all of major college basketball. The club hits on 50.4% from the field which is second best in the nation. Iona goes pretty deep in their rotation as they have 8 players who average 13 minutes or more per game this season which helps the club insure their quick pace on the court.

The BYU Cougars should thank Gonzaga and St Mary’s for elevating the West Coast conference and earning this gift NCAA Tournament bid over the PAC 12 conference regular season champion in the Washington Huskies who should be disgusted at USC and Utah for being terrible and disgracing the PAC 12 and more importantly dropping their RPI. The Cougars were eliminated in the West Coast conference tournament semifinals in a 77-58 defeat to Gonzaga as a +2 ½ point underdog. BYU went a combined 1-4 versus Gonzaga and St Mary’s this season. Their two losses to St Mary’s this season came by 14 points at home and 16 points on the road. The Cougars also have a bad 82-68 home loss to Loyola Marymount this season. BYU beat up on the WCC conference bottom feeders this season and struggled stepping up in non-conference and conference play.
