It has been talked about and written about and now the Memphis Grizzlies must take the court following one of the biggest choke jobs seen in recent NBA playoff history. Memphis held an 82-55 lead late in the third quarter and blew this 27 point lead as the Clippers rallied for the 99-98 road win in game one as a +5 ½ point underdog. Memphis has showed some signs of poor play late in the season as the club struggled with close wins against hapless Portland and Charlotte.

LA Clippers made the comeback aided by bench players Nick Young, Reggie Evans and Eric Bledsoe who came up with big baskets and defensive stops to steal game one. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul stayed in the game. Young and Chris Paul seemed to have good sync on the court as Young stationed himself perfectly for dishes from Paul that allowed for shots in perfect rhythm. LA shot 50% in game one and survived 18 turnovers. After missing much of the season to injury Grizzlies impact player Zach Randolph appeared to not be in proper shape as the veteran’s body looks soft and not properly cut like last year as he was the go to guy for the Grizzlies good run in the playoffs last season. LA will be without Caron Butler as he suffered a broken left hand in game one and is out for 4-6 weeks.

The Memphis Grizzlies are trending poorly entering play as the club has failed to cover the pointspread in eight of their past nine games.
