A run line wager on the LA Dodgers and laying the -1 ½ runs will return +140 odds. Those who take the +1 ½ runs on the side of the Philadelphia Phillies will lay -160 odds for their run line wager. The five innings line reveals the LA Dodgers favored by -122 odds with the take back on Philadelphia at +102 odds and the run over under at 3 ½ runs.

Taking the hill for the Dodgers in the series opener will be last year’s Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw as he will oppose Vance Worley from Philadelphia. The Dodgers have struggled in recent games as the team is losers of six of their past seven games and have seen their lead in the NL west begin to narrow. Philadelphia is a team decimated with injuries to key offensive cogs this season and has lost two straight and come in on Monday with an overall record of 28-27 and in last place in the National League east division.

Left hander Clayton Kershaw is 0-2 in his past two starts with losses to the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers all coming at Dodger Stadium. His run support has been lacking as LA pushed across just four runs total in those two decisions. He last pitched on Wednesday and allowed five earned runs with eight hits and four walks in a 6-3 home loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Vance Worley has gotten off to a good start in the 2012 year for the Phillies as the right hander sports a record of 3-2 with an ERA of just 3.07. Following a win on May 11th against San Diego Worley had be shut down as the hurler was forced to go on the 15 day disabled list due to an inflammation on his throwing elbow. Prior to hitting the DL he had given up 8 earned runs with 17 hits in 12 innings of work against San Diego and Washington combined.
