Starting for the Nationals will be right hander Max Scherzer as he will oppose LA Dodgers left hander Rich Hill. The right hander had five strikeouts and threw 96 pitches. Rich Hill threw in Game 2 on Sunday for LA. Hill lasted only 4 1/3rd innings and allowed four earned runs with six hits and struck out seven.

The Nationals took a 2-1 series lead as they beat the Dodgers in Game 3 in LA 8-3 behind a four run third and ninth inning. The Nationals got four runs off starter Kenta Maeda and Kenley Jansen. Game 4 saw LA start Clayton Kershaw on three day’s rest. LA spotted Kershaw a 5-2 lead entering the top of the seventh inning. Kershaw got only two outs and left the game with the bases loaded. All three base runners scored off LA relief pitchers and it was a 5-5 tie. LA got the game winner on a two out base hit by Chase Utley in the bottom of the eighth. Dodger close Kenley Jansen got all three Nationals hitters out in order in the ninth and the series moves back to Washington for the fifth and deciding game.
