The Denver Nuggets were facing a 0-2 deficit as they hosted the LA Lakers in game three on Friday night. Powered by a strong first quarter that saw the Nuggets build up a 30-14 lead the team was able to narrow the LA Lakers lead in this series to two games to one with their 99-84 home win as a -3 ½ point betting favorite.

Denver in their win still did not shoot very well as they were held to 39.8% from the field which marked the second game in this series where the Nuggets were under 40% from the floor. The difference though in game three was the Denver Nuggets on the glass as they embarrassed the Lakers by pulling down 63 rebounds to the Lakers 51. It will be a difficult game three film sessions for both Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol as they allowed Nuggets big men Kenneth Faried and JaVale McGee pull down 15 rebounds each. Faried is a young talent but allowing a player of the status of JaVale McGee to perform like this is totally unacceptable to the Lakers. McGee was a problem player for the Wizards who was shipped to the Nuggets in the Nene deal and through his poor play went from a starter to a bench player.

LA shot just 37.2% in game three with Kobe Bryant off his game with 22 points on 7 of 23 shooting. The LA bench was missing in action as the unit produced just 9 points in game three. Ramon Sessions had 15 points and nine assists in the loss.
