Most of the nation will receive an American League East showdown as the Boston Red Sox will make the road trip to open up a weekend series against their rivals the New York Yankees. Viewers in New York and Boston will receive an American League showdown as the Detroit Tigers will hit the road to open up a weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles. The Tigers and Orioles will begin play Baltimore at 7PM Eastern Time and MLB Network provides the national television broadcast to the New York and Boston area. The scheduled starters for game one of this weekend series will be righty Max Scherzer going up against right hander Miguel Gonzalez. The Tigers starter Scherzer is carrying a perfect 7-0 on the season as he will battle the Orioles hitting lineup. Miguel Gonzalez gets the ball for Baltimore against this good hitting Detroit team. Gonzalez has started eight games in 2013 and is 2-2 with an ERA just under four runs. This is the first meeting of the year between the Tigers and Orioles.
