The majority of the nation will receive the start of a weekend interleague series between the St Louis Cardinals and Baltimore Orioles. The Cardinals and Orioles will get things started from Baltimore at 7PM Eastern Time and MLB Network will provide the coast to coast broadcast. On the mound for St Louis will be newly acquired Justin Masterson as he opposes Orioles right hander Chris Tillman. Masterson was hit by Milwaukee in his debut with the Cardinals and with the luck of run support was able to notch a victory. Justin Masterson gave up five earned runs over six innings in a game won by St Louis 9-7. The former Cleveland Indians starting pitcher carries an ERA of 5.62 on the season. Chris Tillman has thrown 143 innings on the year and carries a record of 8-5 with an ERA of 3.78. Tillman is coming off an outstanding performance on Sunday as he threw seven shutout innings at home as the Orioles squeaked by Seattle 1-0.

Others will receive Game 1 of a weekend AL series as the Detroit Tigers will continue their road trip as they travel north of the border to play the Toronto Blue Jays. Start time is set for 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Network. The scheduled pitching matchup will feature right hander Anibal Sanchez for Detroit as he will oppose Blue Jays knuckle baller R.A. Dickey. Sanchez has started 20 times on the year and Tigers hurler has a record of 8-5 with a n ERA of 3.37. The Orioles hurler has been roughed up in recent starts by allowing four earned runs or greater in three of his four starts. Anibal Sanchez reversed that poor form of late as the starter shutout Colorado at home on Sunday over seven innings in a 4-0 home victory by Detroit. R.A. Dickey is 9-11 on the year with an ERA of 4.03. Dickey too has been roughed up as the right hander has allowed four earned runs or greater in three of his past four starts.
