At 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel the Baltimore Orioles will host the Boston Red Sox. Getting the start for Boston will be righty Nathan Eovaldi as he will oppose Orioles righty Dylan Bundy. Boston has taken full control of the AL East division off their four game series sweep of the New York Yankees last weekend. Mookie Betts and JD Martinez have been key parts to the Red Sox turnaround with their power numbers.  Nathan Eovaldi came over in a trade with Tampa Bay and has won both games with the Red Sox with wins at home to the Yankees and Twins. He has allowed no runs in those two outings. It has been a disappointing year for the Orioles. Starting pitching has been poor. Dylan Bundy does come off a pair of good outings at home to Tampa Bay and on the road to Texas.

The late night game gets underway at 10:15PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel as the San Francisco Giants are home to the Pittsburgh Pirates. On the hill for the Pirates will be righty Trevor Williams to oppose San Francisco lefty Derek Holland. The Pirates have been one of the hotter teams in baseball since the All Star Break. They have been able to pull their record over .500 and get into the picture in the NL Wildcard race. Starting pitching has shown improvement and the team has moved up to ninth in the league in quality starts. Trevor Williams has been one of the starters on the Pirates who turned around positively. The right hander has allowed just two runs over his past four starts. The Giants opened this series trying to erase the frustrations of getting swept in a two game series by the Houston Astros as their relievers gave up late leads. They wasted great starts by Dereck Rodriguez and Madison Bumgarner. Derek Holland has pitched well as there are no ugly outings in his past eight starts. Down his ledger are starts where he has allowed two runs or less.
