Chicago swept a four game home series against the Nationals a month ago and was favored in each contest. Chicago has won two straight and seven of ten after winning two of three at Atlanta last week. Washington swept Philadelphia at home in a three game series. Both pitchers are in good form. Hendricks has an ERA of 2.05 in his past three starts working 22 innings. Scherzer has an ERA of 2.86 in his past three starts tossing 22 innings.

Two AL contenders meet at 8:15PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel as the Kansas City Royals are home to face the Cleveland Indians. Cleveland is favored on the road by -125 odds with the underdog Kansas City Royals returning +115 odds. The total came in at eight runs. Getting the start for the Indians will be right hander Carlos Carrasco to face Royals righty Edinson Volquez. Cleveland continues this road trip after going 4-3 at Seattle and the LA Angels. The Indians took two of three against the Angels over the weekend after an 8-3 victory on Sunday. Kansas City was on an eight game losing streak after taking the final two games at home to the Chicago White Sox. Volquez has struggled over his past two starts by allowing nine earned runs total over his past 11 innings of work in losses to Baltimore and Cleveland on the road.
