The action gets underway at 12:30PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as the LA Dodgers are on the road to the Pittsburgh Pirates. On the mound for LA will be lefty Scott Kazmir as he will face Pirates left hander Francisco Liriano. The first two games of this series have not gone well for the Dodgers. They hit this road trip on upswing winners of six straight and eight of their past nine games. They dropped the Friday decision 8-6 and lost 6-1 on Monday. Pittsburgh was heading the opposite direction of the Dodgers as they opened up this series. The team had lost three straight and seven of their past eight games. They are outside the playoff picture but still not without a shot for a wildcard spot at this point of the season. Both pitchers going on Monday have high ERA’s for NL standards. Liriano has struggle the most as the veteran right hander sits at 4-7 in 14 starts with an ERA of 5.17 and WHIP of 1.63. That is giving up over 1 ½ base runners per inning.

At 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Network the Washington Nationals will host the New York Mets. It will be right hander Noah Syndergaard starting for New York. The Nationals have seen their lead in the NL East drop considerably. It has been a rough road trip as heading into Sunday the team had dropped seven straight. Syndergaard despite poor run support enters play with a record of 8-2 in 14 starts with ERA of 2.08 and WHIP of 0.99. New York began their road trip winning two of three at Atlanta heading into play on Sunday.

The late night game gets going at 10PM Eastern Time on ESPN TV as the LA Angels will host the Houston Astros. The Astros have turn around their season. They had been sitting near the bottom of the AL West but now have their record up to three games over .500 and now in the wildcard hunt as they have won nine of ten heading into Sunday. LA has dropped three six straight after their 7-3 home defeat to Oakland on Saturday.
