The New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies will close out their four game series in day baseball on Monday. The Mets and Phillies get things started from Philadelphia at 1PM Eastern Time and MLB Network has the coast to coast broadcast. The scheduled starting pitchers for Monday afternoon will feature Jon Niese a New York Mets left hander facing Phillies right hander David Buchanan. Niese is looking to get back on track as the Mets hurler was tagged for six earned runs as he loses 7-1 at the Washington Nationals on Wednesday night. Jon Niese is 5-8 on the year with an ERA of 3.51. David Buchanan has a mark this season of 6-5 with an ERA of 4.39. He will be riding a two game win streak entering play after winning on the road at Milwaukee and on Wednesday Buchanan earned a home victory against the Houston Astros.

ESPN Monday Night Baseball will feature the LA Dodgers continuing their road swing as they open up a series against the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers and Braves begin play from Atlanta at 7PM Eastern Time on ESPN TV. LA Dodgers will throw right hander Dan Haren as he opposes Braves right hander Julio Teheran. Dan Haren has been labeled as the weakest link on the Dodgers rotation as many expected the veteran right hander to be demoted unless immediate improvement was shown. Haren came through with his best performance of the season on Wednesday as he gets into the eighth inning and gave up just one run and walked none in a victory at the LA Angels. Julio Teheran is 10-8 on the year and leads the staff in ERA at 2.92 on the year. He looks to improve off an effort at Seattle on Wednesday where he gave up six earned runs in a road loss to the Mariners.
