It all gets underway at 7:15PM Eastern Time on FOX as the St Louis Cardinals host the Washington Nationals. Getting the start for Washington will be left hander Gio Gonzalez as he will oppose Cardinals righty Michael Wacha. Gio Gonzalez has had a steady hand for the Nationals this season. He is 7-2 with an ERA of 2.87. The bullpen let him down in his last start on Monday in a 5-4 home defeat to Chicago as Gonzalez threw six innings and allowed one earned run. Gio has now allowed no more than three earned runs over his past seven starts. The Washington bullpen has been struggling all season. Michael Wacha has been inconsistent on the season as he enters Saturday with an ERA of 4.50. He held Cincinnati to one earned run over six innings in an 8-2 home victory on Monday.

Others will receive at 7:15PM Eastern Time on FOX TV the Detroit Tigers hosting the Cleveland Indians. It will be Jordan Zimmermann on the hill for Detroit to face Indians right hander Carlos Carrasco. Detroit entered this series with Cleveland at 35-43 as their starting pitching has struggled all season long. Cleveland is 3-0 in Carrasco’s past three starts. The Indians right hander came away with a no decision on Monday as he allowed eight earned runs in 3 1/3rd innings at home to Texas. Cleveland won the game as they put up 15 runs in the victory. Zimmermann is 5-5 on the year with an ERA of 5.53. He allowed five earned runs at San Diego on Sunday as he received a no decision.

Most of the nation will receive at 7:15PM Eastern Time on FOX TV the Houston Astros at home to the New York Yankees. On the hill for the Yankees will be left hander Jordan Montgomery as he will oppose Astros righty Francis Martes. The Houston starter Martes has struggled with an ERA of 5.51 in his three starts. Montgomery after a shaky start to the season has greatly improved his form as he has four wins and a no decision in his past five starts.
