The action gets underway at 12PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as the Washington Nationals will host the San Francisco Giants. Starting for the Giants will be Dereck Rodriguez to oppose Nationals lefty Gio Gonzalez. The Giants prospect Dereck Rodriguez will make his second start of the season. The 26 year old in his Major League debut held the Phillies to one run in six innings in his first victory of the season. Gio Gonzalez is having a great season as the veteran is 6-2 with an ERA of 2.27. His last loss came way back on April 23rd. Nationals opened up this series sitting ten games over .500 as their once maligned bullpen has improved their performance in recent weeks. Giants are 12-20 on the road as they open this series.

On FOX at 7:15PM Eastern Time the Texas Rangers are hosting Houston Astros. It will be lefty Mike Minor starting for the Rangers to battle Astros righthander Charlie Morton. Charlie Morton is having a great season. The Astros hurler is 7-1 with an ERA of 2.84. He will try and bounce back from his worst start of the season allowing six runs in 5 1/3rd innings at home to Boston in a 9-3 defeat. Minor is 4-4 with an ERA of 5.76. He took the loss last time out at Seattle allowing four runs in five innings of a 6-1 loss. After losing the opener of this series the Rangers fell to 27-38. Astros moved to 20-11 on the road.

The late night game goes off at 9PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings Channel as the LA Dodgers host Atlanta Braves. Starting for LA will be Alex Wood to meet Braves righty Anibal Sanchez. Alex Wood is the only healthy starter for opening day as Ryu, Kershaw, Maeda and Hill are on the DL. Wood looks to rebound after a poor start at Colorado where he allowed six runs in two innings. Atlanta has been a good road team this year. They sit 20-14 on the highway as they opened this series. Sanchez is coming off a good start at home to the Nationals allowing no runs in seven innings.
