After a long stint in the bullpen veteran Freddy Garcia was summoned to a starting role following the injuries to C.C. Sabathia and Andy Pettite. Garcia worked in a starting role on Tuesday and allowed two earned runs and five hits over 5 1/2rd innings. After a promising start to the year Red Sox starter Felix Doubront has been hit around a bit. The left hander has allowed 18 earned runs in his past 27 1/3rd innings pitched. This is just the second series of the year between the Red Sox and Yankees. They met for two games at Fenway Park in last April with each team winning once.

He is coming off over a month on the disabled list with fatigue in his throwing shoulder.
