The TV coverage gets underway at 1PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as the Boston Red Sox host Chicago White Sox. On the hill for the White Sox will be righty Reynaldo Lopez to battle Red Sox righthander Rick Porcello. The Red Sox veteran righthander Rick Porcello has a poor year in 2017. He had an 11-17 year with an ERA of 4.65. He vowed to redeem that poor season and so far, so good in 2018 as the righthander has a mark of 8-2 with an ERA of 3.59. He has won his past two starts. Porcello in his last start held the Houston Astros to two runs in 6 1/3rd innings of a 9-3 road win. Reynaldo Lopez responded well after a bad start at Cleveland. At the Indians the righthander gave up seven runs in 2 2/3rd innings. He then responded with a gem at Minnesota allowing no runs and one hit in seven innings. On the road Lopez has an ERA of 4.86 and at home 1.85.

ESPN Sunday Night Baseball has a first pitch at 8PM Eastern Time as the New York Mets are home to the New York Yankees. It will be Luis Severino starting for the Yankees to battle Mets righthander Noah Syndergaard. Mets offense has been very poor. As they opened this series they scored a total of two runs in their past four games. They faced a bad pitching staff in Baltimore at home in a two game series and got swept as they scored a total of one run in those contests. They host the Yankees for a three game series on a six game losing streak. Yankees are moving in the opposite direction as they enter the Subway Series at 40-18 overall and 18-9 on the road. Yankees are top in run production in 5.59 runs per game and tops in home runs with 98 on the season. Syndergaard returns to the rotation from the 10 day DL. He has allowed three earned runs or fewer in ten straight starts. Severino is an early contender for the AL Cy Young with strong numbers this season. He is 9-1 with an ERA of 2.20. Yankees have won 12 of his 13 starts.
