There will be day baseball as some of the country will receive the New York Mets hosting the San Diego Padres. The Mets and Padres get things started from New York at 12:10PM Eastern Time and MLB Network has the coast to coast broadcast. Getting the start for the Padres will be right hander Andrew Cashner to meet Mets left hander Jon Niese. Cashner on the year is 4-10 with an ERA of 3.93 and WHIP of 1.31. He has pitched well of late by allowing two earned runs or less in three of his past four games. Niese looks to rebound after a bad start on July 24th as he surrendered six earned runs with two homers to the LA Dodgers working just three innings.

Others will receive at 12:10PM Eastern Time over MLB Network the Miami Marlins at home to the Washington Nationals. It will be Max Scherzer a right hander throwing for the Nationals to face Marlins veteran right hander Dan Haren. Max Scherzer is on the rebound after a poor start by allowing five earned runs with three homers to the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 24th. Dan Haren has just one win over his past nine starts. He has allowed eight earned runs over his past two starts tossing 12 innings.

In prime time at 7PM Eastern Time some of the country will receive the Baltimore Orioles hosting the Detroit Tigers over MLB Network. Right hander Miguel Gonzalez takes the mound for the Orioles to face Tigers right hander Alfredo Simon. Both pitchers are struggling. Gonzalez has an ERA over 4 ½ over his past three starts while Simon’s ERA is 6.43 in his past three starts.

In other markets at 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Network the Toronto Blue Jays will host the Kansas City Royals. It will be left hander Dan Duffy getting the start for Kansas City to face Toronto right hander Marco Estrada. Duffy has been hot allowing just four earned runs over his past four starts logging 26 1/3rd innings. Estrada looks to improve after giving up five earned runs, three walks and eight hits over four innings in a loss on July 24th at Seattle.
