Some areas will receive at 1PM Eastern Time the Philadelphia Phillies hosting the LA Dodgers over MLB Network. LA will start right hander Zach Greinke on Thursday afternoon to meet Philadelphia righty David Buchannan. Zach Greinke, in an opt-out year has had an outstanding season at 10-2 with an ERA of 1.41. He earned a win on July 31st at home to the Angels allowing just two earned runs and five hits in eight innings. It has been a poor season for the Phillies right hander Buchannan as he is 2-5 with an ERA of 6.44. He had a good start last time out on July 31st as he gave up three earned runs and eight hits in 7 1/3rd innings as he got the win at home to Atlanta.

Others will receive and AL Central matchup at 1PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as the Detroit Tigers is at home to the Kansas City Royals. Anibal Sanchez gets the start for Detroit to face Yordano Venture of the Royals. It has been a miserable season for the Tigers as they fired unexpectedly their general manager on Tuesday. Entering play on Wednesday Detroit is 51-55 and 4 games out of a wildcard spot. Cueto makes his second start for KC. On July 31st he received a no decision pitching six innings and allowing three earned runs at Toronto.

In prime time at 7PM Eastern Time over MLB Network most of the nation will receive the New York Yankees hosting the Boston Red Sox. Scheduled to start for the Red Sox will be left hander Eduardo Rodriguez as he will oppose Yankees lefty C.C. Sabathia. After their 13-3 home victory to open this series on Tuesday, the Yankees have won seven of their past eight with the Red Sox.

In other areas it will be the Toronto Blue Jays at home to the Minnesota Twins at 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Network. The Blue Jays start left hander Mark Buehrle to oppose Twins right hander Kyle Gibson. Both teams are alive in the AL Wildcard race. Toronto has won the first two games of this series after a 3-1 home victory on Tuesday.
