Some of the nation will receive at 1PM Eastern Time on MLB Network the Minnesota Twins hosting the Chicago White Sox. Starting for the White Sox will be right hander Mat Latos as he will oppose Twins righty Ervin Santana. The White Sox have gotten off to a great start at 5-2 as they entered play on Wednesday. They took Game 1 of this series on Tuesday by posting the 4-1 victory as a -114 favorite. They opened up the season on the road by winning three of four at the Oakland Athletics. It has been a terrible start to the season for the Twins. After their loss to the White Sox on Tuesday the club has moved to 0-7. They are struggling for offense as the Twins have scored three runs or fewer in all of their first seven games of the season. The pitching has kept them in striking range so the issue is squarely on the bats. Latos will make his second start. He threw on April 7th at Oakland where he threw six innings and allowed no runs on just one hit with a walk allowed. Santana will make his third start of the year. He is 0-0 with an ERA of 2.25. In his last start at Kansas City the Twins hurler allowed two earned runs and six hits over six innings.

Others will receive at 12:30PM Eastern Time on MLB Network the Pittsburgh Pirates home to the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers will send right hander Jordan Zimmermann to the hill to battle Pirates righty Gerrit Cole. This will be the fourth meeting between these clubs. They split their two meetings in Detroit held on Monday and Tuesday. Jordan Zimmermann makes his second start of the year. He is 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00. Zimmermann earned the victory on April 8th at home to the New York Yankees as he allowed no earned runs and two hits over seven innings. Cole is 0-1 with an ERA of 5.79 and WHIP of 1.71. He worked on April 9th and allowed three earned runs and five hits over 4 2/3rd innings in a 5-1 road loss at Cincinnati.
