Chicago had a good first half to their season with a 55-38 record. Team holds a 2 ½ game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers for the top spot in the NL Central. Cubs closed the first half strongly by winning a three game series at the San Diego Padres for their seventh win in eight games. Chicago is hoping that Kyle Hendricks can get keep his good recent form as he was slumping through the month of June. Over his past two starts Hendricks has allowed two earned runs in 13 1/3rd innings of work.
