Regional action is set to go off at 8PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as some of the nation will receive the Chicago Cubs hosting the Detroit Tigers. The Cubs start right hander Jason Hammel as he opposes Tigers right hander Anibal Sanchez. The teams split their two game interleague series back in early June. Sanchez has been clobbered in recent outings by giving up 15 earned runs over his past three starts working 18 innings. Hammel has been sharp by allowing two earned runs or fewer in eight of his past ten starts. The Cubs are hot winners of nine of ten games as they open up this series.

Others will receive at 8PM Eastern Time on MLB Network the Houston Astros at home hosting the Tampa Bay Rays. The Astros will start righty Scott Feldman and he will face Rays right hander Jake Odorizzi. The Rays look to rebound as they get swept over the weekend at Texas. Ororizzi looks to recover from a bad outing on August 12th where he allowed six earned runs in six innings at home to Atlanta. It was a nice outing for Feldman on August 12th as he held the Giants to no earned runs over six innings in victory. The Rays have won five straight against the Astros.

The New York Mets will be in interleague action on Tuesday night to play the Baltimore Orioles on the road at 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Extra Innings channel. The Mets start right hander Jake deGrom as he opposes Orioles righty Kevin Gausman. New York swept a two game home interleague series with the Orioles in early May. The Mets open this interleague series on a three game losing streak after getting swept at home to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Baltimore had their hitting shoes on over the weekend as they sweep the Oakland Athletics in their three game series scoring a total of 30 runs.
