At 7PM Eastern Time on FOX Sports 1 the Cincinnati Reds will host the St Louis Cardinals. The Reds will start right hander Dan Straily as he opposes Cardinals righty Adam Wainwright. The Cardinals open up this series in the NL Wildcard race as they split a four game series at Miami over the weekend. After winning the first two of their series they dropped games on Saturday and Sunday. Cincinnati is going through a down season but could be playing their best baseball as they took the day off on Monday. They have won seven of their past ten games as they took two of three games in their series at San Diego, San Francisco and at home to Arizona. Straily for Cincinnati is pitching in very good form right now as the right hander has allowed three earned runs total over his past three starts working a total of 20 2/3rd innings. The veteran Wainwright threw 117 pitches in his outing on July 27th at the New York Mets as he gave up four earned runs and 11 hits tossing 6 2/3rd innings.

The late night game goes off at 10PM Eastern Time on MLB Network as the Seattle Mariners are home to the Boston Red Sox. Starting for Boston will be left hander David Price as he opposes Mariners lefty Wade LeBlanc. Boston now sits in third place in the AL East division. They split a four game series with the Angels and were very fortunate as they overcame a 3-0 deficit in the top of the ninth inning as they put up five runs to get the win. At 52-51 opening this series on Monday the Mariners are still in the hunt for a wildcard. David Price took a hard luck no decision in his past start on July 28th as he allowed no earned runs and seven hits working 8 innings in a 2-1 road defeat at the LA Angels.
