The action gets started on ESPN2 at 7PM Eastern Time as the Philadelphia Phillies will play host to the Boston Red Sox. The probable starters for Game 2 of this series will feature Red Sox right hander Rick Porcello facing Phillies veteran righty starter Aaron Harang. Porcello takes the mound right after agreeing to a four year contract extension with the Boston Red Sox worth over $82 Million dollars. The 26 year old right hander spent the past six seasons with the Detroit Tigers. He had a career best ERA in 2014 at 3.43 and was 15-13. Porcello logged 204 innings a season ago. It was a bit shocking to see fly ball pitcher Aaron Harang sign with the Philadelphia Phillies. It is even more surprising to see him to pitch in the second game of the year for the Phillies. In Game 1 of the season the Boston Red Sox flexed some of their new found power they signed in the offseason as they crushed the Phillies 8-0 on Monday as Hanley Ramirez had five RBI’s in a game where he crushed a grand slam.

At 10:10PM Eastern Time over on ESPN2 it’s the final game of the three game series as the LA Dodgers will host the San Diego Padres. The probable starters for each team will be right hander Andrew Cashner for San Diego facing newly acquired Brandon McCarthy for the Dodgers. McCarthy was moved up to the number three starter as left hander Hyun Jin Ryu is out with shoulder problems. With the New York Yankees in 2014 McCarthy in 14 starts compiled a respectable 2.89 ERA. Cashner posted an ERA of 2.55 a season ago with the Padres. Matt Kemp returned to his old stomping grounds when the teams opened the season on Monday and the former Dodger was 2-4 driving in all three runs for the Padres in a 6-3 loss.
