Two AL contenders match up at 1PM Eastern Time on FOX Sports 1 as the New York Yankees will host the Tampa Bay Rays. The Yankees will start right hander Nathan Eovaldi as he will oppose Rays lefty Matt Moore. The Tampa Bay starter returns to the rotation after being called up from Triple “A”. Moore had been ineffective in 2015 with a record of 1-3 with an ERA of 8.78. He was on the opening day roster and in the rotation but could not go very far in games and was demoted. Eovaldi looks to rebound after a bad start on August 30th as he gave up five earned runs in five innings against Atlanta.

On FOX Sports 1 at 4PM Eastern Time the St Louis Cardinals will be home to the Pittsburgh Pirates. St Louis starts left hander Jaime Garcia as he opposes Pirates righty Charlie Moore. The Pirates lead the wildcard race handily. The team trails St Louis by six games in the loss column entering Friday for the NL Central with just 30 games left on the schedule.

Its regional action in prime time at 7PM Eastern Time as some will receive the Washington Nationals at home to the Atlanta Braves on MLB Network. Joe Ross starts for Washington as he opposes Braves right hander Shelby Miller. After a 15-1 defeat to open this series on Thursday the Braves had dropped nine straight games. The Nationals are trying to catch the New York Mets in the NL East division. After their win on Thursday they trail New York by six games in the loss column with just 29 games left to be played.

Others will receive at 7PM Eastern Time on MLB Network the Houston Astros on their home field facing the Minnesota Twins. Lance McCullers will be on the hill for Houston to face right hander Ervin Santana for the Twins. Houston held a two game lead over Texas in the AL West entering Friday night. The Twins seek an AL Wildcard spot as they trail Texas by 1 ½ games.
