Most of the nation at 7:15PM Eastern Time on FOX will receive an NL battle as the Pittsburgh Pirates will host the LA Dodgers. Jeff Locke gets the start for the Pirates. Pittsburgh has struggled losing three of four to the San Francisco Giants as they opened up this series. With the Thursday defeat the Pirates have dropped eight of their past nine games. They sit near the bottom of the league in Team ERA and WHIP season to date. LA begins this road trip after winning seven of eight in their recent home stand. Locke shut out the Giants over 6 2/3rd innings in his previous start. Prior to that outing he allowed 18 earned runs in his previous 8 2/3rd innings of work.

Others will receive at 7:15PM Eastern Time on FOX the Atlanta Braves hosting the New York Mets. Starting for Atlanta will be right hander Julio Teheran as he will oppose Mets righty Jacob DeGrom. The Atlanta Braves after their victory to the Mets in the series opener has won four straight against New York on the season. DeGrom has allowed three earned runs or less in nine of his past ten games. Teheran has allowed two or fewer runs in seven of his past ten starts.

An AL battle to some of the country at 7:15PM Eastern Time on FOX as the Kansas City Royals will host the Houston Astros. Starting for KC will be right hander Chris Young as he will battle Astros righty Mike Fiers. Houston has gotten back into the AL Wildcard picture with a five game win streak and winning eight of ten games entering the start of this series. Fiers held Cincinnati to no runs over 5 2/3rd innings in his past start. The Royals after winning seven of eight games got swept in a two game series at the Mets.
