The Yankees fell back to .500 as they dropped Game 4 of the Subway series with the New York Mets as they lose 4-1 on Thursday night. Alex Rodriguez is struggling at the plate hitting .204 with nine homers and could be cut from the team.

On FOX Sports 1 at 4PM Eastern Time the Boston Red Sox are on the road to meet the LA Dodgers. The Red Sox will conclude a long 11 game road trip with three games at Dodgers Stadium. They are the top scoring team in MLB by pushing across 5.48 runs per game and are the top hitting club in the league with a batting average of .285. The weather will be hot in LA at 1PM Pacific Time so we could see a high scoring game here. The Dodgers return home after losing two of three at Colorado as they took the series finale on Thursday by the score of 4-2.

On MLB Network at 7PM Eastern Time the Washington Nationals host the San Francisco Giants. The Nationals will start left hander Gio Gonzalez as he opposes San Francisco righty Matt Cain. Gio Gonzalez enters play with a record of 6-9 with ERA of 4.29. He appeared on July 31st at the Giants and earned the victory as he allowed only one earned run in his six innings of work. Cain is coming off a good outing at home to the Nationals where he shut them out in five innings on July 31st.
