Miami is a 4-4 football team with poor offensive performance. They enter Monday night football on a two game losing streak. On Sunday night football they dropped a 27-24 decision at home to the Oakland Raiders. Dolphins were able to move the football in defeat with 395 yards. Jay Cutler has his best game as a Dolphin throwing for 311 yards and three touchdowns with no picks. His 34 of 42 completions were his best ever. The Miami offense overall averages only 270 yards with 14.5 points per game. That is last in the NFL in scoring offense. There was concern about how the Dolphins would react after the trade of Jay Ajayi. Miami got production on the ground on Sunday night from Kenyan Drake who rushed for 104 yards

Carolina enters play at 6-3 on the season. Panthers are coming off a 20-17 victory at home to NFC South rival Atlanta Falcons. On the season the Carolina offense only produces 18.7 points per game. The passing game needs improvement as quarterback Cam Newton completes 62% of his passes with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Newton hasn’t gotten much help from his lead running back. Veteran running back Jonathan Stewart has the bulk of the carries with 121 but only 350 yards rushing for 2.9 yards per rush. Carolina is trying to work rookie running back Christian McCaffery more into the offense. In their victory to Atlanta the rookie ball carrier had 66 yards on the ground which was his high of the season. McCaffery is a weapon out of the backfield with 54 catches for 406 yards and two touchdowns. Carolina has won two straight and has an outstanding defense which allows opponents only 274 yards and 17.7 points per game.
