Taking the mound for the Red Sox in the series finale for the Marlins will be Carlos Zambrano and he will oppose Daisuke Matsuzaka. Big Z was enjoying a productive season in Miami but has faltered in his past two starts facing Tampa Bay in each problem start. Zambrano over his past two starts has allowed 11 earned runs and eight hits with nine walks in just 4 1/3rd innings of work. Dice K makes his third start of the 2012 year. After allowing four earned runs in his first start of 2012 in five innings against Washington the Red Sox right hander worked six innings and allowed three earned runs to the Cubs in a 3-0 loss on June 15th. Boston is playing very good ball right now with two straight wins in their two games in this series against the Marlins. They put up seven runs in game one and 15 runs on Wednesday. In their games against Miami home and away in their two interleague series the Red Sox has won four of the five scheduled meetings this year. Miami has struggled big time with three straight losses and eight losses over their past ten games. The Marlins pitching staff has been torched allowing seven or more runs four of their past six games and double digits runs against in three of those contests during that span. Boston has rallied off a poor start to two games over .500 and are sitting 3 ½ games out of a Wildcard position in the American League.
